Disaster
if the room is large enough it could maybe be rebuilt with a false front wall - like a recording studio to eliminate baffle effectsyou can certainly do some things to deaden the walls too

you can buy many xlnt amps with a 14 or 30 day trial periodI suggest you try the Benchmark amp (see their web site), as well as the new PS Audio (in mid-April) and maybe Audio Alchemy, nad Masters and others at mail order dealers like Music Direct...

OTOH, the really early masters for CD are poor - if one were to avoid listening before buying maybe the 1990s would be the safest bet.Re-mastering can use newer, better technologies; can remove some artefacts from say wow & flutter, can degrad...

my choice has been to get a used ARC pre-ampDACs evolve at a rapid rate but a good pre-amp will last years before a really significant upgrade in SQ comes along, so will be very cost effective to do the DAC every couple or few yearsthere is a new ...

I think the above poster is thinking of a Tuned Membrane Bass Trap.  This is, of course, tuned.  The couch is not.
