Rocky return to vinyl Ditto X3!!!! But with a bit of elbow grease and some creativity a cheap and satisfying table can be had. Take a look at Project "Cheap Turntable" for some ideas and fun!
Project "Cheap Turntable" I didn't weigh it but I would guess around a gram or two. The AT cartridge started off light at 6.5 grams, so the extra weight was a non-issue.My best guess is that it tamed the resonating frequency and created a better bond between the cartridge ...
meridian 506.16 I have a 506.20 and it is one great player that creamed my Rega Planet. It has more accurate timbre's, better bass and more real and extended highs. It pretty much sound the same as my MSB Gold Link III!!!!!!As for transport problems, I don't no o...
What do you do when nothing seems to get LP clean? Don't laugh, detergent and distilled water works great and letting them soak is a key to getting lose molds and other sticky things. If you are worried you can always run them through a VPI machine afterwards to clean any residual contaminates.
"Instant Live" - anyone heard of this compay? I'm not sure but if I remember correctly I think they initially used either their own service or disklive until about a year ago when there was a problem with Clear Channel not allowing them to. Intially they planned on not playing at Clear Channe...
"Instant Live" - anyone heard of this compay? For clarification, of course over the years the Dead have released selected and historical concerts and in doing so one might have to wait 15-30 years for a chance of having a concert they atteded be officially released. One company (DiscLive) estimated t...
"Instant Live" - anyone heard of this compay? Also, if bands don't agree to their terms they are refusing them the ability to play at their venues.
"Instant Live" - anyone heard of this compay? The Dead has nothing to do with "Instant Live", which is correctly stated as being owned by Clear Channel. I'm not sure who started them but it wasnt the Dead and believe me they are not a good thing. Sure you can get your live CD after the show ...
Can transport in Philips SACD 1000 be replaced? The more I hear about Phillips and the pervasive problems with the SACD 1000 units the more I'm surprised there is not a class action law suit holding them accountable for selling time bombs to consumers.

which budget DVD player for output to DAC? I'm sure you are right, I've used a Rega and I'm currently using a Meridian 506.20 to satisfaction but an old CD player will not play DVD's or DVDA's, which is why I asked.Frankly I don't care what the form is but rather the function is more impor... |
