What are some of the downsides of owning a Magneplanar .7 or 1.7i ? To the OP,I just thought of a real-world, objective not subjective, potential disadvantage to Magnepans- cats sometimes will treat them as scratching "posts." I don't know if that has been mentioned elsewhere in this thread or if you have cats. :)
What are some of the downsides of owning a Magneplanar .7 or 1.7i ? So much seemingly endless hyperbole. Meanwhile, Magnepan- a great American speaker company, survives and thrives in the rarified world of high-end audio, with its innumerable variations in the "home listening experience" and listeners.

MMGs Two more cents:Prior to my .7's, I sometimes used a pair of inexpensive Pioneer Andrew Jones 8" powered subs with the MMG's. That system is one heck of a musical return on investment. The subs are packed away now because I'm happy with the bass ...
MMGs "ps, how’d you characterize the differences between the MMG and the .7? Just curious."As many have said, the MMG’s are one heck of a speaker for the money and otherwise. I surely agree. The same can be said for the .7’s, which, for me, are a consi...
MMGs Department of 2 Cents. I just replaced MMG’s with .7’s and am thrilled, stoked, thankful, and pretty much blown away, etc. My dedicated listening room is small. 11’ wide x 13’ long with most of the rear wall open to the LR. I expected an improveme...

Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? I’m back in OHM Land. Scored a very nice pair of Micro Walsh Talls from Craigslist yesterday. I now, finally, "get it" about OHMs. After many months of listening to Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors M’s and a pair of Magnepan MMGs, I have some signific...

Synergistic Red Fuse ... Big Buck Fuses- love 'em or leave 'em. With that closet, but tone deaf, audiofool- a Mr. T. Rump on the scene, there are far more pressing issues.
