Do I have to spend $4000 plus to get a better sounding speaker than GET model 7 ? A college friend of mine who's a very, very serious audiophile, now living in Taiwan swears by these: http://http//www.hifi-elite.com/onlyforbea.htm JINYON AUDIO CO. LTD Elite Aesthet VI. He assures me that this speaker blows most other speake...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Apologies to all for my last post. The Onkyo was merely "different" and not at all "better." I should know better, damn it. Sorry.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Audio can be f*****g weird. I’ve got "world-class" tube gear and have been powering the Micro Talls with that. Until tonight- I hooked ’em up to a rather modest Onkyo home theater receiver, and damn, they sound better! Much better. Go figure.
Do I have to spend $4000 plus to get a better sounding speaker than GET model 7 ? Mr. Jim,I guess you’ve given up on Magnepans and the rest of the numerous other speakers you’ve asked about. Apparently you’re a journey rather than a destination kind of guy. Good luck. You’ll need it.
Whats on your turntable tonight? John Field, The Complete Nocturnes for Piano, as performed by Elizabeth Joy Roe. No turntable, streaming. Hope that doesn't disqualify me.
The use of the word "musical" as an adjective @roxy54 "I would apply it as an adjective to speakers and components that don’t exhibit distortions that distract me while I’m listening to music."I like it. Full-disclosure:I'm reading this book written by Andrew Durkin. It's an "ear opener".for ...
Sonus Faber Liuto Monitor vs Cremona Auditor M Since no one responded to my question, I figured the only way to satisfy my curiosity was to purchase a pair of Cremona Auditor M's.I sold the Liutos.
Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor old v new Very late to this game. I very much like how my Auditor M's powered by world-class tube gear sound.
What are some of the downsides of owning a Magneplanar .7 or 1.7i ? bdp, I’m thinking your "shower rod" idea could look pretty cool. Maybe one rod per speaker, centered. You could also have multiples, two or three per speaker. Maybe powder coat or paint ’em. I may do a rough using Photoshop to get a sense of what ...
Magnepan mmg vs .7 . Real world experience opinions requested "Thanks for update. How do they sound at low volume?"My tube amps underwent a major upgrade recently, one of the goals was to enhance low volume speaker performance, among other things. The .7's sound pretty darn amazing at low volume now. And I m...
After nearly 20 years, I left Magnepan and went ProAc So many of our perceptions in this often eccentric hobby are influenced by which way the wind is blowing and the phase of the moon during any particular listening moment."Row, row, row your boat, merrily...."
Magnepan mmg vs .7 . Real world experience opinions requested Old thread, I realize. However, I now have a pair of .7’s and they are the better speaker. Having said that, I could happily live with my old MMGs, giving up some bass response and detail, soundstage width and height. One more observation: both spe...
What are some of the downsides of owning a Magneplanar .7 or 1.7i ? First of all, I'd like to nominate Randy-11 for president and bdp24 for vice-president.Second. At what point does one accept the characteristics of speaker A,B,C, or D and simply listen to the music? My .7's provide listening enjoyment on many l...
What are some of the downsides of owning a Magneplanar .7 or 1.7i ? OP, Sunny Jim- are you out there?
What are some of the downsides of owning a Magneplanar .7 or 1.7i ? To the OP, there are NO disadvantages to Magepans. Only you can decide if they are for you.Setting aside the tired notion of "how may angels might fit on the head of a pin" it seems to me that the aim of home audio, high end or otherwise, is to ev... |
