most realistic sound from a stand mount Loudspeaker active or passive
Well like most here I haven't heard everything out there, but I've heard a lot (most of the Big Names). The MBL 121 omni monitors which until recently I owned, have the most 3 dimensional sound I've ever heard from a stand mounted or floor standing...

For what it's worth:I had the 3.7s in my 13' X 15' room and they worked perfectly.  No problems whatsoever. Then again, it's a really good room for sound.
I gre out of Be Tweeters
I can't think of any audio technology I've fully turned against, but in reaching for something:   Electrostatic speakers.Loved the Quad 63s I had for a while, and I've heard tons of other electrostatics (and hybrids), and in almost all cases they ...

@allangaardWell, as luck would have it:  My buddy will be receiving the PMC Fact 8 floorstanding speakers, so I'll be able to have a good listen in excellent conditions!   I'll report on that at some point.

steve,Yeah, I was coming from the Thiel 3.7s.   Auditioning many of the latest designs only re-enforced what an accomplishment the Thiels were.  Other speakers would do one or another thing really well, but fall down somewhere.  I'd come home to t...
Is Meridian dead as a product company?
I used to own the Meridian 508.20 CD player and loved it.  I pretty much never hear about Meridian now, except in regard to...you-know-what....
Any monitors clearly better than Pulsars?
I heard the midbass hump on the Pulsars (Stereophile noted a bit of added warmth to the Pulsars too), which is why I gravitated to the Perspectives, which evened that out and sounded more linear t me through the lower midrange/upper bass.

Allan,I'm not in a position to give you any useful info on the PMC speakers, given the circumstances in which I heard them.I've heard the big MB2-A PMC speakers sounding big, powerful, spectacular at audio shows.  But usually played so loud it was...

andy,I don't find myself having much beef with your beef about the infinite slope claims.  :-)Though I would say:  Regardless of whether the specific technical claim is true about the infinite slope crossovers, I'm personally not sure about how mu...
