Journey ending speakers
As I've said before: never trust any audiophile who says he has found his "journey-ending speaker" until he's on his death bed. Most of us feel that way when we are enamoured with some new purchase but then after a while, whadyya know, something ne...
Conrad Johnson--does anyone use this brand anymore?
I started in the 90s with a CJ MV 55 stereo tube amp and when I needed beefier amplification for a wider range of speakers I auditioned everything under the sun - solid state and tubed. For me the CJ Premier 12 monoblocks came out on top. Just lik...
Thiel Owners
I'm in no hurry, nkonor.  (That's the nice thing about owning them to test out, vs a limited home audition with one of them).Keeping both is an option, but one I'm trying to resist.  I tend to like one aspect of a speaker over another and not want...
What is your speaker ownership history since 1995?
I just thought I'd raise another analogy:Guitars.Notice that quite a number of guitarists (when they have the means) like to collect different guitars.  Why would they do that?  After all, if they were only "into the music" then guitar music could...

gryphongryph,"Sorry, not to judge,..." ...is almost always followed by judgement...and a lecture ;-)We are audiophiles. The gear is part of the hobby. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t be here (including you).Men (it seems more than women) are often into ...
Thiel Owners
Will do, robinbarbour!
Thiel Owners
Now that I currently own 3 sets of Thiel speakers - 02s, 2.7s and 3.7s, it's occurred to me:  I guess I like Thiel speakers :-)The 2.7s continue to amaze me in how much punch and life-like energy they bring to the party.
2017 ‘Keeper’ speakers under - $25K
soundsrealaudio,It appears to me you have accumulated a fair amount of audio myths in your criteria.
The best tweeter design
steakster,re amps and MBL 121s.I'd had concerns that I would have to use more powerful amps than my Conrad Johnson Premier 12 tube amps (140W side).   But before I bought the MBL 121s I read that reviewer Peter Breuninger had used the tiny 14W cla...
The best tweeter design
Well, just my opinion of course but...The best tweeter/high end I’ve ever heard is still the MBL radialstrahleromni design.I still distinctly remember first encountering them at CES in 2000, wandering the grounds I suddenly heard for the first tim...
Thiel speaker model range
I can only say that the CS6 displayed in my room the same characteristics I heard in other rooms, though I had a long time to play with many positions of the speaker in the room, and listening heights, etc, and hence I think I got as good a pictur...
What is your speaker ownership history since 1995?
This is quite interesting seeing how various people progressed from one speaker to another.  So many questions arise "why did you ditch that speaker for the next one?"It also tends to underline the cliche that we audiophiles can never be happy wit...
What is your speaker ownership history since 1995?
Wow, bsimpson's list actually makes me feel sane ;-)My audiophile genes were formed listening to my Dad's Kef 105 speakers with a Carver Sonic Holography amp, in the 80's.Mine, since mid 90's (and I'm going to include speakers that, even if I didn...
Audio Physic Virgo I (or Virgo II): still considered a very good or great speaker?
FWIW....I've had 3 different AP speakers in my house - the original Virgo 2s (I believe the model reviewed by Michael Fremer), after that the Audio Physic Libra, and a few years ago the Audio Physic Scorpios.  I have always loved AP speakers and s...
Speakers for Room Size
I can't tell you if those specific speakers will work in your room. However, I will point out:  I think there is a fairly common "myth" among audiophiles that big speakers -by that I mean ones full range or close to it - won't work in smaller roo...
