geoff,I may sometimes comment on someone's posting style - especially if they are being disingenuous.  But I *do not* use comments on someone’s posting style to *avoid* people’s questions or arguments. I directly address them (as I did yet again w...

So geoff, you are avoiding the point...again.The point being: I do not fit the definition of "pseudo-skeptic" that you posted. It's obvious to anyone who would read it. Can you dredge up the teeniest bit of integrity to acknowledge this?

uberwaltz,Sounds great! But please remember: I will not take your opinion on this movie as reliable unless you your assessment was made in the context of proper methodological controls, including a control group.Otherwise, have fun! :-)

thecarpathian,As you can see Geoff’s attempt to critique that portion of my post (mentioning "credentials") is the usual attempt to avoid the actual substance of the point made. He just ignores the point that an engineer wouldn’t typically evade a...

So geoff’s hand was finally forced to show his"pseudo skeptic" card that he kept threatening me and others with - throwing around that label as if it suited, or showed any problem with, my arguments.Of course, if anyone reads the "definition" of p...

ronkent, jafant,I've long been familiar with REL and their approach.  I've had REL subs in my home before.  But I want to try doing subs using a crossover, which have some advantages if done right to the REL system.

Does anyone know what "pseudo skeptic" means?Only geoff knows for sure, but you can bet you can feed it to horses. ;[)
Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers
Small update:I auditioned some Wilson Benesch speakers. It was an interesting experience. That’s a brand that has intrigued me - never heard them but have read some raves. Turns out a local dealer sells the brand so I dropped in and he had the smal...

Funny you mention Magico, I'm going to be checking out the Magico A3 speakers soon.I tried hooking up my JL subs in the REL fashion (they allow for that type of set up) and didn't have great success - the sound got tonally darker and less dynamic ...
What used speakers raraely come up for sale
Here's a super rare speaker that would be simply killer to pick up used:Waveform Mach Solo. That was the slightly smaller, passive version of the famous Waveform Mach 17 speakers by John Otvos.   The Mach 17s were one of the most amazing sounding s...

@cakids,Agreed on the AP Scorpios.  I owned a pair in ebony for a while and the were one of the most attractive speakers I've seen.  Plus they sounded great.  A real bargain for high end sound and aesthetics if you can find them used.
How To Field Questions About Your Audiophile Lifestyle...
I'm about a clean aesthetic, so the source components/amps etc are in a separate room, and cables for my speakers are essentially hidden.  Thus people really just see a pair of nice looking speakers and - if they aren't interested in such things, ...

ronkent,Yes I've commented on the mid-bass bloom of the 2.7s as well.  It can really add some nice punch and warmth in many cases, and a dynamic feel.  And for the most part it does it invisibly.   But certain tracks can really zone in on that hum...

ronkent,Beautiful looking speakers!  Someone will be lucky to get them. What does your your girlfriend like better about the 2.7s?  Is it just a size, design thing?  Or does she actually prefer the way they sound? For me the 2.7s is a nicer looking ...
