Addendum to my other reply:Bear in mind that the new Rega P3/24 I used now sells for $845 and the outboard PS is an additional $345 totalling $1190 compared to the $550 for the 1200. Comparing the Rega P2 would be would be more apples to apples pr...
How does the Technics SL 1200 compare with....
Being a Rega dealer and a DJ at a local radio station that uses the 1200 I did a quick but well controlled comparison and posted the results on an earlier thread that was removed for some reason. I used the latest P3/24 with its outboard power sup...
Turntable lamp?
I hope you got the incandescent version as halogens will put coodies into your AC, as will the power supply for the LED version, as well as using the dimmer.
Record Sleeves - Which ones and where?
Far West Records is a nice mom and pop near LA with better prices than the above, especially if you're out West. No website! ph: 626-335-5544.
Best MM for the money or?
FYI, it's .2mV, not .02mv. As you may know, most MCs are in the .5-.8mV @5cm/sec. A .4mV output will gain you 6dB and a .8mV will gain you 12dB. No need to go to an MM for higher output. Of course, a step up transformer can be had for as little as...

Going to USA: Where to buy LPs in CA and Vegas?
Ditto Berkeley.
Potential problems w/ commercial open reel tapes
They should hold up fine. A bit like saving your records by dubbing them to CD.
Box for LP's
Far West Records is a nice mom and pop out LA way with better prices than the above, especially if you're out West. No website! ph: 626-335-5544.
Best of the Gliders, or?
never too late...
Best of the Gliders, or?
Second Jcarr. If you find yourself upgrading the cart though, for not much more than you're considering check out the new Transfiguration Axia although it would outclass your current rig and would only make sense if you were planning on an upgrade...
funk firm t'tables?
Footers, etc. have at least as much to do with how internally propogated resonances are handled as isolating from externally sourced vibes. Not to mention that resonances that are way too small to be felt can have very audible effects.
