There's no accounting for taste....
A new dream...I love the decadence of it...interesting to run them with SETs and no negative feedbackthanks,Phil
Reference 3a Dulcet
TLH FWIW have you heard the JMR Trentes? I wonder how they compare. Not that I am looking for a change unless I wanted to get into an SET amp. Mine have a similar neutral quality to a Reference 3a (floorstander) speaker I heard once (I do not know...
Aerosmith's Honkin On Bobo
Inspired by early Fleetwood Mac when Peter Green played with them.... according to my local newspaper
Your favorite recent discovery
I second Iron and Wine, very 'breathy' vocals and intimate with acoustic guitar and occasional banjo (played very slowly). It sucks you in for a mellow listen...Phil
Grado Sonata and tracking
I have no problems with tracking of my Sonata on a Rega 300B tonearm and LP12 turntable. I have the high output version and have no idea if that affects the tracking performance.
ok guys get me into 200+ wpc
Innersound ESL is very good with tons of power.
What to update first: pre or power amp?
I had a Magnum 88 and went to Magnum 120s and there was not a big difference. My point is, I am GUESSING the M88 is a better sounding piece than the M66 pre and therefore agree that you should get the pre first. There is the argument that since the...
Vinyl, should I take the plunge?
I like the fact that I can go to my local music store and buy used vinyl for $3 each. I have bought many great albums this way. Just my 2 cents..
Please read and help me

System for a dorm - how is this?
madmilkman, I was not addressing the question to you however it is interesting to hear your thoughts, I remember a TAS review on one of the NAD combo units and it was very positive. Maybe my memory is faulty? Also one remote has it's advantages.I ...
System for a dorm - how is this?
Why not the NAD amp that includes the CD player? Then get the JM Reynaud Twin speakers. You could save money on ICs and put it into the speaker wire.I think it is a waste at this price range to buy seperate components and then have to buy ICs whic...
Does your system's sound change with the weather?
try living in Michigan! The weather changes as much as I change the channel on TV!Interesting thread.... I notice my stereo listening enjoyment goes up and down like a barameter so, I will note the weather on especially good stereo listening days,...
Any advice on car audio?
sorry to stray from the topic but:is there a single driver speaker made for cars? I like the idea of no crossover and would rather sacrifice the high end in favor of better mids. I hope to hear a good single driver speaker for the home someday as ...
Magnepan 3.6r's - are they to much for my room?
FWIW I always felt my Maggie 1.6s were too big for my 13 x 22 room, even with ficus trees to cut down the QR mid driver they seemed to have too much upper energy. Also the bass overpowered the room a little. I wished I had about 2' - 4' more width...
which monitor isn't lacking in the bass dept.?
I recommend JM Reynaud Trentes which have terrific midrange and high end but the bass coming from those 8" x 10" x 16" boxes is nothing short of amazing. I know the way they handle the bass on the first song on Kid A (Radiohead) is very satisfying...
