What does mist racking actually sound like? Doug thanks again for the advice and everyone else too. I'm learning that setting the Azimuth for me is a dual combo of eyes and Fozgo. Not sure my ears are good enough yet until the retrospective analysis for azimuth whereas VTF and anti-skate ar...
What does mist racking actually sound like? Thanks everyone for the great advice. I've made several strides today. It's amazing to not realize how much your sound is changing as a cartridge breaks in. Once the XV-1S suspension loosens up, things are now obvious and my sound had to get reall...
What does mist racking actually sound like? Oh God, what have I started?! Ha! No, not my VTF/anti-skate explorations, but my darn laziness in spell checking. We've degenerated to racks - the snack tray variety! Yum!
What does mist racking actually sound like? Thanks so much for the responses. Doug, you are reading my mind. My XV-1S probably has about 150 hours on it now and I have been currently running it around 2.174 grams. I've been reading you and Thom's posts on the XV-1s, ideal VTF and anti-skate...
What does mist racking actually sound like? So can anyone please describe what subtle and not so subtle mistracking sounds like? Anyone have audio clips of examples? The mist is gone and the rack is stacked. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
What does mist racking actually sound like? Never will I 'submit as-is' again. Sigh......
What does mist racking actually sound like? Darn spell check! I mean mistracking. Sorry for the typo.
Intermittent Static pops in one channel Good thought Mitch. My Cadence is around 8 years old. Play CD's through the preamp are great - no noise or static. Its got to be phono pre - junction box - or cart I bet. Don't see how it can be tonearm. Never manipulated it and the attachments to...
Intermittent Static pops in one channel Ugh, now back in both channels with a vengeance, with L > R and seemingly higher noise floor regardless of cart loading. Well, here goes - phono pre, junction box, tonearm, or cart. The investigation starts this week. Ugh....
Whats on your turntable tonight? Girls - Father, Son and Holy Ghost - average pressing on white and black vinyl; band from SF bay area. Impossible to describe - every song transcends the next. Best LP of music of the year so far. Don't shy away from the pressing, it won't get bet...
Intermittent Static pops in one channel Thanks for the responses. I re-seated all the interconnects from turntable to phono pre to preamp to amp. Seems to have taken care of the issue for now. Crossing my fingers its not the XV1s. I love that cart!!
Rowlands Same here - very positive with Rowland service and support.
Rega, Music Hall or VPI VPI for sure
Problem with older REL subs & class D amps I was told by the REL/Sumiko rep to just not use the black ground cable on my REL Gibraltor and my Roland 302 amp. When I hooked the black ground up properly to the negative speaker terminal, I got a terrible LOUD hum from the transformer in the R...
Rowlands I own Rowland gear - beautiful, supremely built to last and sounds great. Doubt I will ever change things...... |
