Best, or ideal record clamp
HRS analog disk. Couples with the LP perfectly and not much weight on the bearing. Can't get better!
Dynavector XV-1S ---is it overkill for my system?
How about a Manley Chinook at $2,250? I haven't personally owned a Manley, but I've read that the Steelhead has a very low noise floor and is a tube phono. The Chinook is apparently directly related to the Steelhead in regards to parts and boards....
Jeff Rowland 625 amp ... & 725
Guido, any news on the plans for a Criterion replacement? I thought that was pretty quick for JRDG to delete a statement model that fast. Also any news on JRDG phono preamp? With the resurgence of analog, I would think one might be in their future...
Shun Mook Record Weight
I ordered the HRS Analog Disk from the Cable Company (www.cableco.com)in November and it was directly shipped from HRS to me. I received it in about two weeks - pretty fast!
Lyra Titan: Stylus broken during shipping
Sounds like an MSS HiFi story. They have had quite a bit of bad press on the internet lately. I'm sure they are telling the truth - they probably bought much of Andy Singer's floor product before he closed down for a while. They tend to buy out de...
Dead Can Dance New LP "into the labrynth"
I have an early pressing of the MoFi release and an original UK 4AD pressing. Both play clean without the distortion in Lisa Gerrard's voice you describe.
CD/SACD Player with direct iPod/iPad connection
Thanks for the info!
JRDG Coherence II; Battery Display Issue
Stew, the batteries aren't bad to replace. I sent mine in to JRDG, but thinking about it, they could probably just ship you the batteries and you could do it yourself.I've used their email message service from their website and rarely get a respon...
JRDG Coherence II; Battery Display Issue
I noticed exactly what you described and then when testing battery life it was significantly shorter. On my BPS1 I can get around 6-8 hours a continuous battery play. When the batteries were near the end of thir life, I could only get an hour or l...
JRDG Coherence II; Battery Display Issue
I'm betting that your batteries cannot hold a full charge now. If you haven't replaced the batteries in over 5-7 years, it might be time. If you go in battery mode how long do the batteries last before switching to AC? I think you might find its a...
TW Acustic 10.5 and Graham Phantom Supreme II
TD, your system is excellent. I bet it is extremely musical. I love my XV-1s cart and really want an arm that will work well with it. I've just heard some experiences with the XV-1s and TW 10.5 arm that simply didn't allow room with the pins to al...
TW Acustic 10.5 and Graham Phantom Supreme II
Dgad, I also have a Dyna XV-1s. I've heard the that XV-1s anatomically is a poor choice for the TW10.5 as it and the headshell don't give the pins much room for proper alignment which in turn makes setting up the cart for proper alignment a proble...
TW Acustic 10.5 and Graham Phantom Supreme II
Well, gotta be optimistic! But not Tulsa optimistic that's for sure. Maybe I should rephrase the question: 'Those with a Raven AC that has tried both Graham Phantom in any version compared to a TW 10.5."Didnt realize the Phantom Supreme II was tha...
TW Acustic 10.5 and Graham Phantom Supreme II
Thanks for your response Ebm. That's the type of info and experiences I'm wanting to hear. Since all these products are hard to audition, especially in one's own system, Audiogon is a great place to get other's opinion and experiences.
