Raven AC3
I don't have a Raven AC-3 but do have a new Raven AC-1. The build quality is second to none. If your musical tastes include black velvety backgrounds, smooth refined (but not rounded) highs, and solid bass extension then this is a good table to au...
Setting Azimuth
If it never changes with extreme left and right swings in azimuth settings, then I would doubt the Fozgometer too!
Setting Azimuth
Have you calibrated the Fozgometer? Mine had a similar issue. Downloaded the calibration tracks, burned them to CD, hooked the Fozgometer up to the CD player and calibrated it following the instructions. You will find thm on the Musical Surroundin...
What's your SDS setting?
I would lubricate the bearings yearly. Around every 12 months I would sense speed instability. Bearing lube fixed it immediately. Motor oil for the motor is probably needed less frequently. I agree with the above - ALWAYS use VPI bearing grease an...
What's your SDS setting?
I've had mine range from 60.00 to 60.40. It's been on the lower end after new lube with VPI bearing grease or putting a drop of oil in the motor.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
Dirty Projectors - "Swing Lo Magellan." on the Domino label.New release on 180 gram vinyl. Fantastic music and recording. Quirky and surprises at every turn. Uses female vocalists almost like instruments. Will be one of indie's best of 2012. Like ...
Practicality of footers to isolate turntables.
Check out Silent Running Audio (SRA). Their Ohio bases and platforms are custom made specifically for your component or turntable. Same $ or less than a Minus K.

Tonearm: Phantom vs. 4 Point vs. 10.5
Kdl, what was your problem with anti-skate and the TW arm? Just curious..
Tonearm: Phantom vs. 4 Point vs. 10.5
There is a difference between the Mint Lp and TW alignment plate. TW has both Loefgren and Baerwald points. After talking with Yip, he could make the Mint with either, but suggested to use Loefgren. So I complied. The Mint Lp and TW Baerwald point...
Tonearm: Phantom vs. 4 Point vs. 10.5
The Mint LP is well worth the cost of around $100. Yip is a gentleman and does great work. All you have to do is email Yip at mintlp@hotmail.com and tell him your tonearm is a TW 10.5 and he will make it to spec for you. The wait time from order t...
Tonearm: Phantom vs. 4 Point vs. 10.5
Opus, I did not encounter any real problems and set the cart and tonearm up in a ball park configuration in less than 2 hours. I used the TW - supplied spindle to pivot device as well as the cart alignment device (used Baerwald). Onve in the ball ...
Tonearm: Phantom vs. 4 Point vs. 10.5
Opus, I had no real trouble at all. I first set spindle to pivot distance using the supplied tool, then mounted the cart. I used the supplied alignment tool (Baerwald) and then fine tuned it with a Mint LP protractor specifically made for the TW 1...
Tonearm: Phantom vs. 4 Point vs. 10.5
TW Acustic 10.5 tonearmI recently purchased a TW 10.5 tonearm and Raven AC. The TW 10.5 is fantastic! Very quiet, delicate yet authoritative. Can't imagine it getting much better and was voiced on a TW turntable. I would recommened the TW.
