Rock with strings Forever changes is a great selection. Immaculate production as well. Not that I dislike Tull, I just feel better when they are not around.
Artists that use the same song structure... Well, .02 is more than most have contributed.

Rock with strings Could be worse. Rock + flute(vomit).Sorry Tull fans.
Rock with strings Beatles and Stones did it, so every rock star feels compelled to emulate. Forgot to add, I'm really only interested in 60/70s string era.
Artists that use the same song structure... Avant-garde is highly subjective. To some its recordings of steam trains; others its Captain Beefheart, still others U2. To be honest, I find most "avant-garde" to be highly self absorbed. Just my .02
Artists that use the same song structure... Who cares. Music is either good or bad regardless of form. I generally don't care for bands that don't have an identity. Gimme t Rex, acdc, Ramones. Oh yeah, and turn it up!
"All Things Must Pass"-Tower Records Documentary Also, contrary to what you have heard, Oasis did an in store in the early 90s @ Piccadilly, and were great lads! Anybody into 80s big music? The Call just didn't have that killer, every track a standout type of Lp. It has nothing to with record sales. Big country debut comes to mind. Virtual flawless debut with a gluttony of high quality tracks. Sounds like I'm slagging them but I'm no...
Anybody into 80s big music? The Call had two massive singles with "I still believe" and "walls come down." They got it right twice, which is more than most. They just didn't have a definite, career begining Lp IMHO. Reconcile came close.
Anybody into 80s big music? This post has inspired me to beef up my 80s collection Lps. A local store had a $1 clearance sale, so I stocked up on some forgotten gems by many of the suggestions here. I basically left with 2 crates of Lps, which is kind of overkill, but I have...
Anybody into 80s big music? Not "Big Music", more " post-post-punk", but Red Lorry Yellow Lorry had a great debut LP featuring "Hallow eyes" and "Talk about the weather." Definite Joy Division connection.
"All Things Must Pass"-Tower Records Documentary I worked at the London store in Piccadilly Circus early 90s. It was a great time for British music, just a short time before the Britpop explosion of Pulp, Suede, Blur, Oasis, etc.At the time, the scene was still indie, with most bands playing Bri... |
