The Biggest Disappointments in Rock and Roll
Compared to the lame commercial fare that has become a festering sore...the Strokes do standout...but then anything (slightly) against the grain does...they look cool(in a GAP ad kind of way)...and some of their songs are catchy...they are a garag...
Looking for speaker choice advice.....
Some complain of Maggies having narrow sweet spots, little bass, and poor dynamics...and despite some or all of these limitations(they are very room dependent)...they still can sound amazing...and give many more pricier hi-end speakers some serious ...
Am I hurting my speakers?
Your probably fine...the difference between 40w and 50w is nominal...these are only manufacturer's "guidelines"...if u listened at high volumes that might be an issue...but like you mentioned...it sounds good...contrary to what many think...normal...

Hard to go wrong with a Rega Planet...which is synonomous with a warm, analog sound(great for rock recordings)...if you feel your system is revealing enough to warrant the extra...then keep the Meridian...to go beyond that will cost you and arm an...

I would agree with the first post...at your price point blow your wad on one unit vs. monkeying with a DAC,cables,transport,etc...u could buy a used Rega 2000 which has an excellent 24/96 DAC for alot less than $800...and put the savings into a su...

HELP Why no bass? Why bright?
ALso...if your B&Ws are on loan...and you detest brightness as you stated...going with a soft dome tweeter ala Spendors,Castles,Proacs, etc might be the ticket...although this will not solve your bass issue...if you really crave more bass...you...
HELP Why no bass? Why bright?
B&W speakers are not known for deep bass(as are most Brit speakers)...they are designed for classical in mind afterall...and the same could be said for Brit amps...they can be a bit lean for some applications...most Brit equipment is "all abou...
