Klipsch Palladium P-39F?
Their spec sheet claims power handling of 400W continuous/1600W peak. Recommended amplification is 50-1000W. Does this seem strange for a 99db efficient speaker?
Dead Can Dance on SACD
Since I'm new to DCD, I'm just wondering if there is any consensus on which of the nine SACDs might be considered essential? Any advise on which SACDs to start with will be appreciated.

Photon46 and Synthfreek, Thanks for straightening this out for me. I'm looking forward to exploring this group.
Dead Can Dance on SACD
I have to admit that I never heard of this group until I received an Email from Elusive Disk and then ran into this thread. I got curious so I started sampling on iTunes. Well, I'm all in now, but I have a question: Why were "Wake" and "A Passage ...

"Any Major Dude" - but I'm pretending there's a gun to my head preventing me from selecting a dozen more that are right there.
Seeking packing tape recommendations
Hi Jim,Given your expertise and experience, is there anything else you can share with us? e.g. Preferred, cost effective shipping for heavy items(say 100 lbs.).
They lost my amp
Thank you Blindjim. UPS said they will pay for repairs subject to their inspection of the amp. I hope others heed your advise; the aggravation is definitely not worth it.

TVAD,I agree 100% with everything you said about Andy. I was wondering if you could recommend another reasonable, reliable tube source, with a more extensive inventory, for those tubes that Andy doesn't carry.
Thinking of upgrading speakers, any suggestions?
"What came close to but overall not better than what I have now is Avalon (up to and including ISIS), lacked a bit of dynamic freedom."Based on the above (ISIS too? - really?), either stick with what you have or plan to spend a lot more, IMHO.
Remotes: Who needs 'em?
Sorry I got into this thread so late but, to those of you who suggest we members of the remote crowd are lazy: Ha!- I say - Ha!! I get far more exercise, walking around the house, searching behind seat cushions for my remote controls than you guys...

Hi Everyone,I've been informed that the cj sojourner is alive and well and residing in Salt Lake City. Keep your fingers crossed for me as Salt Lake City is even further away than Maryland.
Is KEF no longer relevant?
Back in the 1980s I was reading "Stereo Review" and "Audio" magazines the way young people read about exotic automobiles - I knew I couldn't afford this stuff but I loved music and dreaming cost me about a $1.75 at the newsstand. When I worked up ...
I Feel Overwhelmed....Please Help
Speaking from the tube-hugger corner, I would advise you to wait a little before exploring new tubes - make sure everything is broken in first, and that you have whatever isolation you chose, optimally positioned, etc. It's great that you're happy...
Girlfriends and wifes, how do YOU cope?
"When I got into audio, I cut back on my excessive drinking, hard drug use, gambling, womanizing, reckless driving, and pee-ing all over the toilet. It was a pretty good trade-off all in all to her."Obviously, Paul is being funny, but I think he's...
