Stereophile Profiles Carpets and Curtains again .... But the Rug ties the room together. Just don't let some German guy take a pee on it!
Faint hum.... I spoke with McIntosh about this with my tube integrated amp. They said it was normal. But I don't get a louder hum when the volume is increased. It stays the same low level hum
Great guitar 'breaks" (as opposed to solos). Frank Zappa's guitar break during "More Trouble Every Day" from Roxy & Elsewhere is the best of his best guitar work. Never get tired of it.
Who needs a tuner? Very Cool Indeed. Check out some of the African Stations!

Disco...yep, I'm going there I’m sorry, is disco really music? Or is it an electronic creation? If I want to dance I go see a good blues band
Looking to replace my (Mcintosh) The new McIntosh Anniversary Amp, 2152, is a 150 per channel. I call it a tank but it sounds sweet. A great Tube Amp
Direct 2 Disc @rodman99999 Thanks much for the post and your thinking. I too would bias toward 45 rpm. Thinking there must be a reason that they are doing it, otherwise they would put more music on a side of a LP. Those Discog prices for SF LTD are great. S...
Direct 2 Disc Another question, that I am not familiar with the answer to, do 45rpm 12” LPs sound better that 33.3 LPs? My Henry Gray D2D recording is 45rpm. I’ve seen a few other box releases where all the LPs are 45rpm. Thanks in advance.
Direct 2 Disc Great Discussion Everyone - Thanks for the thoughts. I’ve done some more digging. Sheffield Labs simply doesn’t have a catalog that I am interested. I can appreciate a few of their recordings, but mostly it is not my preferred artist set. And ...

Best speakers for classic rock McIntosh 252 Integrated Amp and a pair of B&W 804 D3's. Listening to them now and they sound great no matter what I am playing. The 252 is a tube amp.
I want to be moved and have the music touch my soul! If I can can summarize - tubes, LPs, classic recordings. Sounds great to me. That is what I do, and I am in heaven. EXCEPT when I messed up the MC & MM inputs when setting up the system.. :) Took me a bit of time to figure out why Big Bill...
Music I would succumb to under torture Its funny, but I have never been a fan of country music, but since I upgraded my system some of the young women country artists sound pretty good (Margo Price & Ashley Monroe). BUT, of course, the exceptionally classic music sounds superb (e.... |
