My expert tips on building a sensible world class audio system.
If you or the woman in the house have difficulty choosing your shoes before heading to the Office, then I think it is perfectly practical to add the top sound system to your walk in closet.  Much better than a Amazon Echo.
Serious turntable popping problem finally solved!!
I'm not sure what a cell phone backup radio is, but glad you figured it out.  The RFI could happen to anyone.  My security system is a cell phone run system too, but haven't had any noticeable pops.  Occasional static but that is nothing  out of t...
What’s your vote for the most ridiculous, overpriced, and useless tweak?
Seriously... A $3200 Record Clap.  Why?  Guess some audio folks have money to burn.
Good Inexpensive Amp for Back Yard Speakers
@Simao - I need something that connects to the Streaming system that I already have set up, which runs through my existing pre-amp.@noromance -  I already have the speakers that are wired, and the back of the house was already wired to go - so I a...
Music lover or audiophile?
Can I oscillate back & forth between an Audiophile and a Music Lover?  I think so.  Maybe it switches weekly, or monthly, or maybe it is based on my checkbook? Dunno.  But I like both!
Sound quality issues streaming from Tidal vs CD
I have the same Pro-Ject Ultra S2 Streambox and run Tidal Hi-Fi through it.  It sounds lovely.  I’m sure a streamer at 5x the price would sound better, but I’m very pleased with it.
So just how much vinyl do YOU own?
We should start a thread about how we keep the LPs.  I have them on the 2nd floor but right above a load bearing wall!  Anybody remember Per Madden Design?

Really, you going to make me count?  Just purchased a new MT5 yesterday.  If anyone want to unload their blues collection - I’m game,  Particularity old Folksways recordings.  One of these days I will get everything logged into Discogs.  Seems lik...
Speaker advice for listening to Blues music
I grew up in Chicago Blues clubs, and agree my car is a great sound room. But I don’t expect my sound system to sound like a classic blues club. I know when I play a good Delmark Blues Record, i.e. Hoodoo Man Blues, it sounds excellent on my syste...
Your favourite Rush albums?
@n80  Much appreciated.  Totally agree.  Some bands are great on records and not live, and vice versa.  Some bands are never really captured well on recordings and must be heard live.  Except these days with nugs.net and other band releases we get...
Your favourite Rush albums?
OK - Not at all being argumentative here.  I like a good musical debate.Keep in mind that I am not limiting myself to the arena rock bands.  If I were to throw out bands & musicians from the Rush era that I would go see live any day of the wee...
Your favourite Rush albums?
Never cared for them - to many other good bands of the era with much better songwriting and musicianship.  Never liked their shtick.
Stereophile Profiles Carpets and Curtains again ....
But the Rug ties the room together.  Just don't let some German guy take a pee on it!
Faint hum....
I spoke with McIntosh about this with my tube integrated amp. They said it was normal.  But I don't get a louder hum when the volume is increased.  It stays the same low level hum
Great guitar 'breaks" (as opposed to solos).
Frank Zappa's guitar break during "More Trouble Every Day" from Roxy & Elsewhere is the best of his best guitar work.  Never get tired of it.
