Sony PS-X9
Hi jg2077,13K is quite an investment even though PSX9 is truly better than the lot of above mentioned tables. Even TTS8000 is better than most and can take any arm you like (with accompanying base TB2000 or TB1000). Please also consider serviceabi...
Help me rebirth my old turntable
Hi Hemondoc, you are right, my mistake still though is considered lightweight, your cartridge choices should target for higher compliance ones.
Should an amp have a "personality"?
Hi Andy 2, preamps and poweramps should have no personality, ruler flat, otherwise transparency = information suffers greatly. If you want a different voicing you can do that with everything else down the chain. It comes cheaper and easier to tailor.
Help me rebirth my old turntable
Hi Hemoncdoc, Grado, even though fine cartridges, will most likely hum on your turntable, safe choices would be Nagaoka, Audio Technica, Goldring, Ortofon (consider more for ULM tonearm) . Plenty to choose and match to your tonearm.
Does removing anti-skating really improve sound?
Removing antiskating does not improve sound, applying too much ruins it. All depends on stylus shape and cartridge suspension.
Furutech FP-3TS762 or FP-TCS31
Hi Knownothing, nice and clever purchase, it will get better with time, when i first heard it myself i wondered how on earth such n inexpensive power-chord sounds like that. My only reservation is the rhodium plugs since this is a rather fast not ...
Furutech FP-3TS762 or FP-TCS31
...to further confirm the above i have replaced the TCS31 with the otherwise excellent S022N (14awg), fitted with FI-E38G, FI-28G, on the SCD and some immediacy and drama are gone. Still the outcome is musical and involving but i have heard it bet...
Furutech FP-3TS762 or FP-TCS31
Hi Knownothing 1,i believe that TCS31 would be smoother with better image and no speed loss. This cable does not highlight anything and does not sound hifi. Neutral sounding CD players from my experience benefit from heavier gauge cables. For exam...
Power cord for digital stuffs?
Heavy gauge on digital will not harm especially if the player/dac is tending to neutral. If tends to euphonic avoid heavy duty.as it will sound meshy.SACD/CD players can handle better heavy gauge (14-11AWG) than other source components and preamps...
Turntable got absolutely crushed by CD
Hi,be patient with your record player and you will be rewarded. Normally a new player takes some time to get used to, then adjust it properly and there it is. Analogue takes time.It will jump out, you will notice the difference when you are nearly...
Furutech FP-3TS762 or FP-TCS31
Hi,you may consider Power Evolution II, or if you want to DIY S55N would be a good choice. 3TS20, TCS31 are completely different sounding cables and most probably not suited to a power amp. 3TS20 is open and well suited to preamp, TCS31 better for...

Hello, this is my first post on Audiogon and i would like to share my experience with Zyx cartridges.I have owned a Yatra MKII for 10 years, the suspension went off before stylus wear-common, then upgraded to 4D Ultimate SB and i was amazed of how ...
