FREE - THIEL CS 2_2 to a Good Home This is the kind of thing that me think there is hope for us after all. Yes it happens once in a while. Great move @rop45 and for all who acted the same.
Thoughts on the Linn LP12 turntable They’ve been around since the late 70’s and other then power supply and a few other minor changes (IMO) are relatively unchanged. That alone is a high praise, but minor changes, not really. Everything is changed, plinth, base, bearing, spindl...
Which Power Cable do you think? How would the TT suspension not interact with the arm mass/cart compliance. How can you control four different resonant frequencies, LP, tonearm/cartridge, sub-chassis springs (in case of Oracle low), footfalls. You are dealing with a spring sus...
What’s the deal with high end CD transports not having the ability to program tracks!? Good question, i guess they figured out that people do not record from CD anymore. Skip button works just fine but if you want to record on tape it is a drawback. But i guess somebody buys a transport in first place for sound quality.
Replacement Walker prelude brush replacement pads Have you checked with dealers. Some may have stock.
Which Power Cable do you think? I want to know what type of Interconnect cables you'd use to connect from my Jolida JD 9-A Tube Pre Amp, too the New Tonearm. As @cleeds said, it is a no-starter. Imagine the Delphi bouncing and the arm nailed.
Vacuum Tubes - Chinese knock offs being sold as NOS? They are most probably real ones, this tube was made in abundance in early 80's, for military or air force, came in white boxes, with cigar wrapping, so dates 83-14 are not funny, it came under all names CV4024, M8612, 12AT7WA and so on. Vendors a...
The vanishing stereo rack One box solution never really worked for audiophiles, let's see the new generation, though i think we have a way to go. I believe that main issue is how to vanish the speakers and if industry figures it out then the big guns will have a way to p...
Top 10 vintage cassette decks Many companies produced great cassette decks, most claimed big Nak killers, few did it though, some of the top ones came out late when cassette was dying and sported Dolby S. Many also never made it outside Japan so not well known, all were amazin...
Where do you buy your vinyl? I always like going to a record store, and search or ask, new or used, have a coffe between, otherwise ebay.
Turntables that are still made in Japan? Kondo, TechDas, Luxman, Technics (2 models) these i can think of.
Best driving music. Rush-Marathon man (night driving) Simple Minds-New gold dream 81-82-83-84 (day driving) Both top up and cruising. Ramones going downtown.
Is the Walker LP system necessary if one already uses a good RCM? Walker is not expensive but seems like a major hassle. It is a great product and yes it takes time especially if buying second hand lp's and doing the whole process. Never exceeded 10-20 lp's both sides cleaning, enzymes have limited life time ...
Killer vintage 70's, 80's reel to reel to add to my setup. @knollbrent Akihabara, Chiyoda, Shibuya, Shinjuku, are places to visit if you decide the trip (worthwhile anyway). Or wait till something appears for getting one in near mint condition.
Audiophile Tool Bingo OCD? For sure some have many more,😂 |
