Wendell Diller: "You don't wanna put a subwoofer with a Magneplanar; it doesn't work."
@bdp24    Re read my post. Then, read it again. I was asking as I could not find the quote. Then, re read it. Got it?
Tube PHONO preamp interference - RFI, EMI, bad grounding?
Agree, that the DAC plugged into the Phono would appear to be like a TT at first glance, however, completely different grounding protocol, and completely different sensitivity to the outside world and interference.    Which EAR-834P model is it?

@pedroeb +1 I’m curious who you are quoting, as I did not see that in any post? The language, and arrogance in the quote are reminiscent of someone…
Tube PHONO preamp interference - RFI, EMI, bad grounding?
That’s a challenge, for sure. Never heard any “noise” like that coming from my phono stage, or any other component for that matter. Sounds like a radio that is trying to pick up a signal, that won’t tune. And the beeps are odd. As others have ...

My experience with the First Watt F7
Great thread! Been a tube guy for almost 30 years. Only recently been looking into SS. And as a diy person, I’ve built a couple of them over the past year or so. Built an amp cam amp for a friend, along with a “version” of the ACA using boards fr...
Which pair of speakers changed your Hifi life?
@audioguy85  The Optimus 10’s were my first “proper” speakers.  Have zero recollection of their sound. But I sure did play them loud, much louder than I should have I suspect. The first speakers that had my jaw hit the floor were the Wilson Gra...

Will rebuilt Quad ESL 57s take the place on a great $30K dynamic speaker?
I’ve been running my 57’s with an EL34 integrated and they sound great with that. Do not feel I am missing out on dynamics. Just finished building a Hiraga 30 watt Class A amp. As soon as the transformer arrives, I will be setting up the 57’s agai...

Typical.   If you have not heard it, used it or examined it it person, then all you are doing is posting an uninformed opinion.
Dust cover up or down?
Don’t have, and don’t use a dust cover.    Will likely get one made for my TT to keep the dust off when not in use, but seeing as how it is used daily, it will be spending the bulk of its time stored near by.    Suspect if I get  one made, it wi...
180g … It’s All Hype !

American Made Audio Products
@darkj    I think the list is a cool thing. Especially for the smaller, lesser known manufacturers. There is some amazing gear being produced by lesser know folks who need some online exposure to help their product be known by the consuming publ...
American Made Audio Products
@larsman    Im not against US made product by any stretch. In fact 90% of my gear is North American made. French CD player, 1959 restored/rebuilt Swiss turntable and a danish phono cartridge are the exceptions. If I were to replace anything in ...
