Denon DL304 Hi C123666. What reliability problem are your referrring to? How does the Shelter compare to the Denon 103R?I have a DL103 and want something a bit different. I was thinking that if I do not go for a DL304 I would consider the shelter.ThanksPaul
Denon DL304 Himu, what arm are you using on your Maplenoll?ThanksPaul
advice for best reliable turntable Whatever you do, do not use an SS phono. They all sound terrible. Dry, lifeless and dead. It is because SS equipment has very high phase distortions that are particularly evident in phono stages.
Good cartridge for unipivot arm? Dan, I am a die-hard unipivot guy with some low compliance carts, so I am a bit concerned by your post. I have just bought a 12" Sheu Classic (14 gram unipivot) and am planning to run my DL103 on it. What type of problems are you referring to?I ha...
Good cartridge for unipivot arm? Most (All?) Grado carts have a compliances of 20 CU (i.e. high compliance), which would make them a very good match for the Mayware and Sonus tonearms.
Good cartridge for unipivot arm? The 'unipivot' has nothing to do with cart selection, rather you need to consider cart compliance and match that to the effective mass of your arm. I have a Morch UP4 and have 3 different mass armwands depending which cart I use, I need to selec...
Un-WARP your records When flattening a warped record you usually end up with a flat but somewhat oval record. Warped record can be clamped down (some harder than others) and played. Oval LP's cannot ...
Differences between three turntables You fail to mention what arm is on the VPI, BUT the VPI will sound good with just about any arm. In other words, there is scope to upgrade the arm later on if you wish. The VPI jr turntable can also be upgraded to MKIII or MKIV specs, or you are cr...
Oracle Delphi vs Linn Sondek vs VPI Scout Do not limit yourself to only those three tables - plenty others out there. That said, of the 3 you mention the scout is the way to go. If you are an avid tinkerer and tweaker, the Oracle may suit you. If you wear bell bottoms and rock like it is ...
Need capacitor recommendations for tube amps Dynamicaps are super detailed without being harsh or edgy. Real nice. Not too costly. You can get them from www.partsconnexion.com. If you need higher values at low cost you may want to try Black Gate C caps.Ps. I have no connection to partconnexi...

MM cart. Recommendation On the Sonus Formula IV arm you need to use a high compliance cart. The Shure V15 is a high compliance cart and should be a very good match. If you have your eye on a cart with slightly lower compliance you can use a thicker damping fluid in your ...
What's Wrong With My Cartridge/Setup? I would suggest you make sure the TT is well isolated. Non-sprung tables like the Rega need to be placed on vibration free platform. I also had issues with a glass platter, which was remedied by changing an acrylic one. Also, some LPs do sound wor...
Starter Turntable I started analogue about a year ago - from scratch. LP's are waaay cheaper than CD and today I have a collection of over a thousand LP's.I was so impressed with the sound of LP's that I got rid of my CD player (Cary 303/200) and all my CD's. Fact ... |
