Tube vs solid state (with all apologies) Use tubes wherever you need to amplify a signal and wherever you rectify a signal.
The Most Cost Effective Tweak You can burn in equipment before putting them into you system.
If your down on your system… What if I’m down on my wife?
"Power Cords-More Recent" " Most amps (if not all) only use only a rectifier stage and use output capacitor to try to keep the voltage as constant as possible."You should stay away from talking technical issues. Really far away. SMH

Budget 15' interconnect recommendation Long cables are a double whammy. Because of the length, you really need to go for a very good cable, but the long length make good cables exorbitantly expensive. Good luck. I ended spending more on my ICs than my amps. Go figure.
Recommendations for cables based on components " Would cables costing $300-500 for example have any improvement over my $23 ones?"Depends. Best to try cables that you can return if you don’t like them. Given the length of cables you need (I suspect you are talking 25 foot speaker cables) I wou...

will a linear power supply really sound better with my arcam dac Cheaper and way better sounding than a linear power supply is an Li battery pack. They're < $100 and depending on the one you purchase will run your DAC for days on end.
Putting an end to the audio cable debate! Part 1 I wonder what Tim Mrock's cables did to the sound to make it so obvious to anyone with good hearing? Did it add something good or did it remove something bad?Good sounding cables do less harm to the signal than bad sounding cables do. Same deal wi...
who makes your fav cable loom in 2021? Wireworld. Their low end stuff is pretty good value for money and fairly neutral.
ground control devices @sksos I'm on the east coast however I am not (yet) interested in trying a grounding device. I am in the middle of a number of upgrades so my ability to discern the contribution from a specific product is probably close to zero. I am interested in... |
