Sony CDP-XA20ES VS. Rotel RCD 971
I havent heard the Rotel, but I did have the Sony for a little while. I took it back and got a Denon 1650ar, which I have kept and use in a small home office system.I tried to like the Sony, but, and I have no idea why, it sounded to me like a 33 ...
Maximum USPS Money Order is 700.
Kelly, is it not true that you can trust a lawyer, i.e., a member of the Bar?
What is your OTHER passion?
At least he has a better memory than I have.
Best Budget Bookshelf Speakers?
I chose Aegis Ones for a small home office system after listening to most of the others you mention. Nice and smooth with enough detail to hold my interest. A little rolled off on top. The Stereophile review was accurate, imo. But, all of these sp...
You get what you pay for...
Ive always been put off by the large markup from the UK prices to the US prices on the Cambridge gear. NAD stuff, in contrast, seems to sell for close to the same here and there. (I have no idea of the sonic attributes of NAD or Cambridge cdps.) A...
Who R U?
Not pc to comment about someone's analism. Man, a wife almost 20 years old? Now that's something to admire, I suppose.
What is your OTHER passion?
Baseball. Professional as a spectator, and kids as sort of a spectator/coach. 12 and 10 year old sons. Real baseball for them, not Little League.

Who is the sexiest female vocalist?
Kathy Mattea. Don't know why I forgot about her until now. Her voice is it.
What songs make you cry?
Well, that's interesting. Off topic I think, but I'll admit that anything by Nicolette Larson brings tears to my eyes because of her untimely passing. My favorite song of hers is Leon Russell's "Say You Will," which isnt on the recent greatest hit...
I am Not hurting anything right ??
It was a recommended tweak to try, by Jon Risch at AA, which I mentioned previously. Doesnt work for me. My speakers sound better to me with no jumpers. But some people report that they like it. I dont know why.
I am Not hurting anything right ??
Thanks Sndsel, that makes it a little clearer, I think. I do prefer my own speakers bi-wired and think people should just try it both ways and see if it makes any difference to them.
I am Not hurting anything right ??
Sqjudge, I'm confused. Regardless of whether bi-wiring is or is not beneficial (and I bi-wire in my main system), I just don't understand how the signal, current or whatever can be different, coming from the same source. Doesn't the amp send the e...
I am Not hurting anything right ??
No harm to leaving the jumpers in (unless as some people say, you will benefit from replacing them with a small length of speaker wire). I doubt seriously that you need to reterminate your cables. If your speakers are bi-wireable (because thats wh...
Best Log in name??
Yeah, I like "Albertporter" too. I'd have done the same thing except it would invite tiring questions about my unpronouncable and inexplicable surname. But, in the final analysis, I vote with Jadem6 for 70242etc.
