The Jupiter copper foil has been in Preamp for a week or so it sounds very nice even with a way to go before break in. Same time I put some Miflex bypass in a pair of monitors and floorstander and was very impressed at such a small investment catc...
Did I buy a broken amp?
Don't know if you have access to Ground and In tap hole on volume pot to run in series 2 resistors. My  Preamp with goldpoint stepped pots 9:00 was my preferred loud listening level now am at 3:00 to be at preferred listening level by adding 2 res...
Preamp caps Jupiter copper foil or Jupiter HT worth double the money?
I agree with bottle necking. I found that out with cap upgrade in speakers. This is new to me changing caps but the results were pretty big in my system. I put CRM, Alumens and path resistors, they replaced Auricaps and was shocked how quiet and r...

Preamp caps Jupiter copper foil or Jupiter HT worth double the money?
Natural and real is what I'm looking for ,not looking for detail or hifi. I knew going into this copper foil was the way to go. Was hoping HT was close in sonics. I'm going to play it safe and go with Jupiter copper foil. I did look at Audyn coppe...
I went from Class D to Luxman A/AB - And most of what you think is wrong
I always thought an amp needs to weigh 70 pounds with massive heat sinks and class D was sterile even though I never heard one.. I bought a used 2006 PS Audio HCA-2 with every mod Audio Reference Mods offered. It was cheap and was going in second ...
Phase Inversion, to flip polarity or not
Thanks for your insight, that helps a little, I listen to 80% records so I'm good there. Reversing polarity in this system does change things and not in a small way, I'm just going to have to give it more time just set everything up last night.
Phase Inversion, to flip polarity or not
Now I am even more confused, drums in one phase guitar in another. I'm going to get out of this hobby and go into butterfly collecting. I do have a phase switch on remote on phono stage so that helps. What are most people hearing when polarity is ...
Is it time in your hobby to build a speaker kit?
I would like to say I am thinking about building a open baffle speaker from GR Research.
Is it time in your hobby to build a speaker kit?
I have to agree the DIY is a lot of fun and very rewarding sound wise. I just got into this maybe a year ago. I owned a pair of LSA standard monitors in a second system long ago and always thought they were very nice for there $1000 price, I repla...
Considering switching to Tubes
I bought a used Yaqin el34 amp to use for an office system. It sounded more like solid state than tube. I even put Mullard xf2 Blackburn plant el34's in it I had laying around which cost more than yaqin new, better but did nothing for me so I sold...
Shocked removed spikes, used blue tack, what other non spike footer
Thanks for that one select-hifi you made the GAIA look like a bargain. $2000.00 for a couple platforms , if I was so rich I couldn't spend all my money in a life time they would be on a UPS truck heading my way., just to see what they could do. Lo...
Speaker advice for listening to Blues music
Another good bang for buck by cutting out middle man is Fritz speakers.
Speaker advice for listening to Blues music
Call Danny (can't hurt) at GR Research, he is a real nice guy and knows what he is doing, he has designed crossovers for many of big name speaker company's. I have a pair of his monitors I bought  on a whim with upgraded crossovers to bring to wor...
Well Tempered Labs Record Player, thoughts on a used one?
I believe you can get belts from Origin live. The square motor helped if belt stretched, you could just slide motor out a little to tighten belt. Round motor is contained so no sliding motor. If I can find his number I know a guy with a reference ...
