Vinyl LPs To CD
My NAD 660 CD recorder has an A/D converter. All I need to do is plug the phone IC's into the analog inputs on the back of the recorder and voila! I have not tried it yet but I bought this unit B-stock for $495. Based in the comments above, there ...
Looking for a cd source for my system.
There's a Levinson 39 cd player on sale in the classifieds right now for 3100. It is upgradeable too.
Has Anyone Compared the 2 McIntosh Integrateds?
Thanks hififile! I found a slightly used 6900 and bought it -- I am waiting for it to come back from Mac, and can't wait. I also found a MR 85 tuner on ebay recently and am waiting for that to come back from Mac as well. Do you think the 6900 coul...
Mods : Fools Gold or the Real Thing
there is an informative testimonial about mods at tweakaudio.com if done by someone who knows what they are doing (Kern, Wright, etc.) I think its the real thing -- very good way to improve sound for not too much money.
Options on a new DAC for my Sony 333ES SACD player
I am using this player as well (unmodded) and am serioulsy considering a high quality one box cd player (like a used levinson 39 or Cary 306/200) with a digital input so I can have the benefit of a top quality single disc transport and better DAC....
Levinson 39 vs. Cary 306/200
I need a preamp in the chain because I have several other sources. I can afford the 39 or the 308 (used that is) but would not be able to afford the upgrade on the 39 anytime soon (though it is nice to know an upgrade is possible).
Suggestion on spending 3500
CARY 306/200 (used)
Sony 555 vs. 333 as transport?
Thanks. The reason I am asking about these two SACD changers in particular is that multi-disc ability it important.
Has anyone tried the new McIntosh CD changer?
I look forward to reading the comments of people who have actually heard the piece. In the meantime I did a little research about the transport mechanism. It is Nakamichi's 'Music Bank' system. If you have a dealer that carries any of Nak's stuff ...
McIntosh MA 6500
I have listened to both. They are both fantastic pieces. They do sound different. Two things I heard that were genuinely different were the way each amp handled bass and the way each amp handled human voices. They were different, and I believe man...
McIntosh MA 6500
Not aware of any reviews. I have heard both this one and the 6900. There was a thread about these two integrateds here at audiogon about onemonth ago....check it out. Great features, incredible build quality, very smooth, non fatiguing sound. Good...
Has anyone tried the new McIntosh CD changer?
Are they really making a new changer? Did you see it somewhere, and if so, where? Thanks,
Sony SCD-333ES HELP
Many thanks to all the constructive and informed opinions offerred about my questions and concerns!
Sony SCD-333ES HELP
Now I am considering something really different. Forget the mods, forget the outboard DAC. If I did all the mods and still bought an outboard upsampling/interpolating DAC, I would spend as much as I would if I bought a used Sony SCD-1, which appea...
Beyond SACD with Redbook: Price No Object
I have tried to read every post on this thread and have tried to come to some conclusion. I am in a similar position to the original author of this thread. I beleive that new digital recordings that are designed for SACD likely produce the best so...
