Enlightened Audio Ultradisc 2000 cd player?
I don't have either of those pieces any more, that was back in 1997. I now have a TRL modified Sony DVD player.Oz
Enlightened Audio Ultradisc 2000 cd player?
My friend had one years ago and he replaced it with a BAT cdp. I borrowed it in hopes of replacing my Theta/Sonic Frontiers SFD2, but it wasn't even close. It was a very smooth player, but the leading edges of notes were blunted. I heard the same ...
Warmest speaker?
Dodgealum,Couldn't agree more....;-}}Oz
Crank it up just once
>Any insight on doing it without fritzing something?<With all that Krelling going on, there will definitely be some ear bleeding!Oz
Esound E5 CD Player
I read "good for the price" to mean that it competes with players in it's price range. No more, no less. It doesn't sound like an enthusiastic recommendation, but it is descriptive enough in and of itself.Oz
wattpuppy 5.1 or von schweikert 4mk3hse
Haven't heard the Watt/Puppy, but the Gen III HSE VR4 uses all different drivers than the Mark I version. Gone are the stamped basket 8" drivers, being replaced by two 9" drivers using composite carbon fiber. I don't know the details of these woof...
Von Schweikerts' vr4 gen III HSE vs vr4 Jrs?
>Interesting that VS has some speakers much better than others in his line<No, not interesting at all. This is actually pretty normal.Oz
Von Schweikerts' vr4 gen III HSE vs vr4 Jrs?
I agree with Tvad and Arkio. The HSEs are far better than the Jrs and somewhat better than the original Srs. Haven't heard the Mark II version, so can't say for that one.Oz
Speaker Positioning Advice needed
>Is is recommended that speakers be placed specifically in the corners of the room?<It is recommended that they NOT be placed thusly.Oz
Another Zu Thread
Tvad,How would you compare and contrast the Definitions to your own VR4s? I would love to someday hear the Zu offerings myself.Oz
To Former owners of Jolida JD 100
I had the Jolida for over two years and loved it. But I replaced it with a TRL modified Sony DVD player. The Sony is more detailed w/o being in your face. It just has that realism that the Jolida couldn't manage. As much as I liked the Jolida, I w...
jm labs focal vs definitive technology
Definitive Technology speakers are great candidates for HT applications, not so much for music. I had a pair of BP2000s back in the mid 90s which were very impressive for dino stomps, car crashes and full tilt movie soundtracks. But kick drums wer...
Blue Ridge Sound HR 1

Are you at this point??
You SHOULD be motivated to purchase an analog front end, right here on the 'Gon, even.Oz
New Von Schweikert VR SR4 mk11 Cream or Crap ???
I heard the Mark I version and was not impressed. I heard the DB-99 at the same demo and it was a far better speaker. I would also say that the VR4 Gen III SE sounds better to my ears than the Sr.Oz
