It was the output tubes all along... @mulveling thanks for the clarification
It was the output tubes all along... @mulveling - Thanks so much for the info-that post will help me a lot. I'd like for you to clarify one point if you would be so kind. I will probably never use the 200iqs in stereo mode. With Mono use only in mind, what would be your go to tube...
It was the output tubes all along... Soo. Back to point. @mulveling, since you've had extensive experience with the 200iq's and the VAC master preamp, what would be your next tube to experiment with if you were in my shoes? Also, good luck with Helene-hopefully she powers down some ...
It was the output tubes all along... @mijostyn I suspect a stronger sub array is in the near future. Will need to live with the KT-170s for a while, but agree that I should give the KT-88's another try. BTW, 90 is the peak for listening, which is permissible by OSHA's standards for...
It was the output tubes all along... @wsrrsw I have over 400 hrs in. I'll refer you back to my original post which details the adventure and results. I love em.
It was the output tubes all along... @mijostyn I don't really have digital phobia at all. I started with a room and a pair of monoblocks in my new house. I was ALL digital until about 9 years ago. Actually most of my vinyl is from my youth, but I swallowed the CD blue pill and did...
It was the output tubes all along... @mijostyn Thanks for taking the time and effort to help me improve my system. I don't do any sound measurements, but it's clear that you have mastered the process. I actually believe everything you are saying. Initially, I was entertaining purch...
It was the output tubes all along... @peter_s I purchased my 170s from Vivatubes.com. and had a good experience. @mijostyn I would like to try them again. My initial audition was with the KT-88s and I found them to be somewhat anemic. When I talked with Kevin about tube options, ...
Truly Stunning Vinyl Album Mike from "The in groove" has a great video on his favorite top 100 vinyl records still in press. His tastes are rock, classic jazz, and blues. A great and informative video. The albums featured are actually still available and would be a great...
What is your "holy grail song" that you cannot find? @mashif . LaBelle -Nightbirds on vinyl was released by Vinyl Me Please earlier this year. It sounds great. Can get it through discogs. Happy listening.
Cartridge upgrade I have had both the Kisecki blue and purple heart. There is no doubt that the Purple blows the blue out of the water. Hard to find a better sounding cartridge at that price. To get the most out of it though, proper cartridge set up is key.
Okki Nokki or kirmuss audio / isonic ultrasonic rcm? I agree with @whart that you need a manual and ultrasonic clean to get the cleanest record. The Kirmus is a modified Isonic machine. For what it's worth, Isonic has been producing ultrasonic cleaners for multiple applications for some time. I be...
Aftermarket fuse to tame a bright system? The problem started after changing your IC's and speaker cables. Changing something else won't fix the situation. A fuse change can change the overall sound but won't fix the problem. As I see it, you have several options. The first would be t...
EVS Music Purifiers - Amazed by how much improvement they make! Anyone else try them? Thanks @ricevs
EVS Music Purifiers - Amazed by how much improvement they make! Anyone else try them? a question for @ricevs. You mentioned that certain speaker cables may not see a benefit with the EVS music purifiers. I have Nordost Valhalla 2 speaker cables. Would you expect improvement with these cables? Thanks. |
