Dipole Asymmetry
Tell us more about your room and your amplification.  It doesn't sound like you have the option of placing the Summits optimally, but more info will help.
Telefunken in Disguise?
There are Telefunken smooth plates that have Mazda labels and they should have the diamond embossed.  That could be what you have.

Viva, no longer a fan
Realistically, how often do you see Viva products on the used market?  Viva is a niche player that seems perfectly happy in that role.  While I think not servicing any used products is wrongheaded and potentially hurts sales, I image Viva basicall...
Song covers that are better than the originals
BDP24, yes you are truly in a minority regarding Jimi's playing and his version of "All Along the Watchtower".  On multiple occasions Dylan has acknowledged that Jimi's version is superior to his."Superstition" is one of my favorite Jeff Beck solo...
Viva, no longer a fan
Not servicing used products unless purchased from an authorized dealer is overly restrictive to Viva owners unless they couple it with a liberal trade-in/upgrade policy.  In effect they are limiting the resale value of existing customers' equipmen...
Bill Chinook / Bruce Springsteen
He was probably listening to too much Woody Guthrie.
You want the TRUTH from those Wilson Alexia's, maybe you can't handle the TRUTH
And it didn't work that well in the reference system until changes in preamp, cabling and power conditioning were made.  I think the reviewer respected the amp, but didn't love it.
RMAF Etiquette
An audio show isn't a place for serious listening any more than an auto show is a place to test drive a car.  It's a meet and greet, industry and friends event intended to showcase product.  It's really about manufacturers and distributor/dealers ...
HFT, Apertures, or something else?
if I never touched it again I could happily listen to it every day for hours on endDoesn't that really say it all.  From my soon to be published book "Profundities Plus" -- Knowing when to stop is a form of wisdom and a path toward happiness.
List of musicians changed career with better success...
Duke Robillard also played with Robert Gordon.  Apparently there were some shows with both Robillard and Gatton.  I don't think there's any recordings of that band.
List of musicians changed career with better success...
I just can't agree with "that were much higher class and caliber than the band they used to play" for John Paul Jones, Gary Brooker or George Harrison.  They all did interesting work after their group efforts, but it wasn't of a different caliber,...
Speakers in the 5-6K$ region & their components
At the price level you're considering by necessity there will be compromises.  If we were talking about $50k loudspeakers, then there would be no excuse for anything but premium drivers.  At the $5k level a loudspeaker designer has to juggle the c...
Speakers in the 5-6K$ region & their components
Your premise is faulty.  For most loudspeakers the most expensive component by far is the cabinet.  Look at your Merlins, or anything by Wilson, Sonus Faber, B&W, YG, Magico and others.  They all use good drivers, some even custom made, but no...
Kind of Wow and Flutter.
It's not a problem unless you let it become a problem.  People have been enjoying "Kind Of Blue" for more than half a century before Steve Stone declared it aurally flawed.  It may not be perfect, but so what!
