PassLabs 350.8 versus Ayre MXR Twenty Do nothing until you get use to the sound of your new preamp.
Not Enough Options for Auditioning Speakers It's possible that you really will have to travel to hear demonstrations of specific loudspeakers. It's just the way it is. Call ahead and make arrangements.I'm surprised no one has recommended that brand that makes all other loudspeakers obsolete.
What Is The Cost Of Amplifier Casework? It’s what’s inside that counts. So you would pay Porsche prices for a Porsche built car that looked like a Gremlin?BTW, Schitt Audio clearly pays attention to how their products look. As does PS Audio, NAD and other "budget" audiophile brands. Th...
What Is The Cost Of Amplifier Casework? What are the chances of a manufacturer getting the internal amp design to sound right if they can't get casework that is functional and looks good? It would be like a songwriter saying the bridge section doesn't work, but the first and second fir...
When System Improvements Are Marginal I agree with bdp24 and his methodology. I disagree with the "jump right at you" aspect. When true it could mean something is very wrong with either your existing system or the new component.
Tech That Flopped! The Vandersteen 2 has probably the highest sales of any audiophile loudspeaker since it's introduction, so why wouldn't time aligned loudspeakers fall into the success category? Sometimes the case is not that a technology was bad, but that it has...
Best Drum Solos Stevie Wonder is one of my all time favorite drummers. If the criteria is playing in service of the song, then Stevie's THE MAN. Everything he plays seems absolutely perfect for each song. Eric Clapton (who's played with quite a few good drumme...

And my system never makes me breakout in tears or jump up and start to dance, but great music on a table radio can. At least on a vintage radio with cryo'ed tubes and an upgraded power...
Best Drum Solos I agree that his style can be over the top, but he has been very influential. Here's an interview from 1978(?),https://www.moderndrummer.com/article/april-1978-carmine-appice-leadin-way/As a point of reference, this is my most amazing drum solo.h...
Best Drum Solos For a slightly more balanced opinion of Ginger Baker's drumming:http://drummagazine.com/10-ways-to-sound-like-ginger-baker/The analysis focuses on his work with Cream, but it does touch on his subsequent (and lengthy) career.
SF Olympica llls Based on your last post you should just stick with the Mac and not worry about anything else.
Zu def 4 are they the best speaker made? Hey, didn't some guy file some patents recently that made all other loudspeakers obsolete? I thought everybody knew that.Nothing wrong with liking your new loudspeakers and letting the world know about it. What would it all be about if we didn't...
Which would you pick between the two DAC. Every Wadia product I've ever heard sounded wonderful, but so what? Over the years Wadia has on multiple occasions been bought and sold, reorganized, changed location, etc., whereas, Ayre has been very stable. Draw your own conclusion.
Why is modern pop music today so terrible? I imagine if he were alive today, JSB would be deep into EDM.
