Carry one amp with your left hand and the other with your right.  It's super important that you maintain your balance and not get your spine out of alignment.  Also bound up the stair steps two at a time to cut the total number of steps in half.

Why don't you just use both cable at the same time and get the best of both worlds?  I suggest you parallel them.  BTW, your cables becoming saturated was a joke.  You just didn't get it. 
4 ohm or 8 ohm - Sabrinas with McIntosh 462
Wilson would recommend the 8 ohm tap, but try both.

How do you know what you're missing?
It's a great question!  Much of the answer depends upon what type of person are you.  If you just want to listen to music and enjoy the experience you won't really worry about how it could be even better.  The music sounds good and you're happy.  ... 
Downside to "revealing" system?
Exactly what sonic attribute makes some of your recordings unlistenable?  But even without knowing your reply, you might want to rethink the Luxman driving the electrostatic.

They should work well together in your size room.  There's a follow up to the original Stereophile review where it's used successfully with a 25 watt amp.

Surely there are different styles of music, but for the most part the labels we placed upon them are marketing terms that assist record labels, radio stations and other music distributors.  Genre labels can be helpful, but they shouldn't be taken ...
