Lay Off the Newbies!
@hikevint, afraid to ask a question?  What's the absolute worst thing that can happen to you if you asked a question?  Conquer your fears and at the very least get your feet wet.
Lay Off the Newbies!
It seems to me far more likely that many beginner's attempts to gain some sort of reliable foundation or foothold will lead them to conclude that this hobby is rife with claims, counter-claims, arguments, contradictions, inconsistencies and unk...
Lay Off the Newbies!
If you want a serious answer, then ask a serious question.  People on this forum truly try to be helpful, but sometimes the OP should do some research before posting.
Movie Stars that can handle musical instrument well
Charlie Chaplin as a composer plus Chico and Harpo Marx as instrumentalists.
Marty Stuart on Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers:
Commercial success is a signifier of commercial success and it may or may not correlate with artistic achievement.  To maintain commercial success, or even viability, over decades is rare and IMO to be applauded.  Tom Petty did that and he did it ...
Jadis J-2
If you want them, then go get them.  Why care what anybody else thinks?  You don't know what they sound like and manufacturer support will be iffy.  So what!  This hobby is irrational -- be irrational.
Marty Stuart on Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers:
The Holmes Brothers always played at a very high level.  Due to multiple deaths they no longer exist, but they were one of the best.

With a single post you've thrown into doubt every post you've made about music.  I actually thought you knew something.  But to slight the Attractions clearly shows your TIN drum EAR.  They were (and as the Imposters) still are a great band.  Addi...
100 watts enough?
If the listener considers 80db loud, then CH 100 watt amp should work.  The listener should be able to achieve 98dB peaks at the listening position before the amp exceeds its rated power.  The Egglestons are not a demanding load and the CH is a ro...
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point?
You know that there is no such thing as gravity right?Pauly, take a 10 pound weight and raise it to your eye level.  Position the object directly above your right big toe.  Release the object.  Now tell me there's no such thing as gravity?  The ex...
Marty Stuart on Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers:
Can't say I'm a big Tom Petty fan, but the man and the band are extremely well respected by other musicians.  They have contributed to a wide range of other artists' recordings.  Additionally, longevity (or should I say survival) at the top of the...
New Raven Audio CeLest Monitor coming this fall.
Fun fact, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon claimed to have studied at the  Cheboygan Conservatory of Music in "Some Like It Hot".  It was a running joke thru the film.
Can I Re-Terminate HDMI cable?
Not familiar with your specific cable, but if it's 13 years old it has limited bandwidth compared to more recent 2 or 3 category cables.  Unless you tell me otherwise it probably isn't optimal for 1080p let alone 4k video.  Buy new cables.
Joni Mitchell, BLUE album is 50 years old, NYT Article
Outstanding article for Joni fans and music lovers!
Need opinions on ceiling reflections
Are you using any of the test CDs to arrive at your conclusion?  They have some excellent channel separation and imaging tracks.  Looking at your room photos I tend to doubt the soffit idea, but I'm just speculating.
