Frequency Response
It depends upon how the loudspeaker was measured, your taste in music and how loud you listen.  I'll tell you why if you divulge the name of the loudspeaker and the size of your listening room.
What stereo equipment do respected musicians listen to?
Actually JCPenney's MCS equipment was rebranded Japanese products and in many cases was very high quality.  I believed they used Technics, Nikko and Toshiba products.  Don't confuse they with Sears stuff.
Is there any one piece of vintage gear you most wished you owned?
JBL Paragon stereo loudspeaker. Frank Sinatra had three of them for home playback of his studio recording tapes.  They were originally intended as the center channel for a three channel playback system with JBL Hartsfields as the L/R.

Onhwy61 - These alleged sonic difference between power amplifiers, are they musically significant? Atmashpere - They can be! Which also means they may not be. Sometimes different is just different, not better/worse and sometimes not even music...

Law of Accelerated Returns
There have been several times in my audio journey when I listened to a system that was beyond my ability to fully process it.  Over time and with experience, our brain fine tunes itself to discern the differences in fidelity.   The differences I...

Law of Accelerated Returns
Guilty as charged.  Of all the possible things to experience before I die, listening to state of the art audio systems isn't at the top of the program.  Call me pedestrian, but systems in the $35 to 75k area are pretty good.

tomic601, great example, that dude has his act totally together.  I wish I was more like him.

Expensive systems in well designed listening room do scale type things better.  They can go louder, sound bigger, thunder in the bass and shimmer the highs.  But does that really correlate with listening to music better?  Sometimes yes, sometimes ...

What are the hallmarks of a serious audiophile?  Just curious.
Pathos Classic Remix Clicking Changing Inputs
My Pathos preamp makes a soft clicking sound when changing volume or inputs.  It only comes from the device, not through the loudspeakers.  Leave it to those Italians to a relay switch that sounds kind of sensual.
