considering a Maplenoll
Strong agreement with Crem on this subject. I do believe once you solve the air supply issue, the maplenoll product performance approaches levels equal to the best in this industry. There are some good products that meet or exceed the high pressur...
Deep Cleaning Records With Steam?
what you might be hearing is a bearing or platter noise versus the record. Do you hear the noise on any of your new or quiet vinyl? if so, see if it has a pattern with the revolution. on my gyrodec, when the oil level got a little low, i would hea...

Bet You Did Not Know Saturday is Record Store Day
went out and supported my local vinyl shop. surprising in shreveport, la, we have a used vinyl store that has close to 100,000 records. granted many of them are lawrence welk, but i have been able to fill a lot of gaps in my collection. I purchase...
Deep Cleaning Records With Steam?
imo, no need to wait 24 hours after steaming. Steaming does not raise the temperature so much. Once the record is at room temperature and dry, you can play it. I routinely check the effectiveness by playing about 30 min after cleaning. i do a fina...
Record cleaning machine vacuum

Deep Cleaning Records With Steam?

New Maplenoll Ariadne owner needing advice
charlieI am thinking about building a prototype arm similar to the arm on my maplenoll to see if it would have some marketing potential. I will keep you informed as to my progress if you would be interested. It would be an airbearing/linear tracki...
Steam Revisited
Agree, the steaming works very well especially when steaming with the cleaner on the record. I believe the heat helps the effectiveness of the cleaning agent. my results are very similar and it is a standard part of my cleaning regime
How to clean Stubborn Records
use teh steamer after you apply the solution but before the scrubbing with the brush. The steamer will heat the cleaning solution and make it more effective at removing the Gunk. also, you need to rinse (and scrub) with pure water following the sc...
Generic cleaning/fluid applicator brushes
Lint brush by everclean can be brought at walgreens for 3 bucks. It has microfiber bristles (directional like the old discwasher only stiffer) that works well. I have also been using the lint mitt (same company) for scrubbing lps. I have a diy rcm...
