How long do you or should you keep your gear.
I've had my Quicksilver Mid Monos since 2015 and while they are being replaced, I have no intention of selling them.  Same thing for my cj Classic 2se, it served me well since 2014 and I just replaced it with a Zesto Leto.   I can say will certain...
Blue Circle Gear?
Wow , that place has exclusive repair for many good brands...good to know .  Most of those brands listed are still in business.
Blue Circle Gear?
Certain defunct brands are worth buying ,  but I just wouldn’t with Blue Circle.    Sonic Frontiers, different story as Parts Connexlon still repairs and mods them.

I would steer clear.....
Line Stage Preamps that blew you away $2500 Edition
That’s the problem with this hobby , every thing is “End Game”   Until you get to try something better....
Line Stage Preamps that blew you away $2500 Edition
Some things are worth the wait, plus that’s not a lot of money when you think about it.   I am having an amp built.  No date promised , but that’s ok because it’s only a couple of months away .   I got on the tail end of the 2021 queue , there are...
Line Stage Preamps that blew you away $2500 Edition
If you really love Dons preamp I would caution you about switching to SS ....   I think you will spend a lot more to better it with a SS .   My  “end game” solid state would be something by DartZeel or Dan d’agostino or something along those lines...

I am trying to decide whether to keep my CJ Classic 2SE or my Sonic Frontiers SFL-1 for a second system.  I do like how the 3 varieties of 12AT7 in the SFL-1 sounded.  Can’t really say that about the 6922 I’ve used in the CJ.   NOS 6922 are $$$ an...

Regarding the Quicksilver preamp.....  if it uses 6922 tubes and it eats them up try the Gold Lion 6922.  That tube is rugged and long lasting and you'd be surprised how good it sounds.    I needed to use one in my cj Classic 2se , it would get no...

If you want to see the most attractive part of the Zesto, check out its rear panel....

Thanks Kingbr.....Yes , the Leto is sexy, but not quite as beautiful as the Toolshed 300b I’m having built ....   that will be off the chart.   Check out Toolshed Amps, Matt builds some incredible music machines...
Mcintosh amplifiers and preamps
Its good,  there are better.... there are much worse.  You can't buy a brand that holds its value better,  plain fact.   I wanted to buy a c22.... couldn't see one in person anywhere close.   It was $6000, ended up buying a leftover NIB Zesto for ...

There us a Worldwide Panic on Availability of Vacuum Tubes
Sorry Doug,  while I do agree with many of your posts, and have enjoyed your reviews,   I have to disagree with your opinion here.... I just bought a Zesto Leto preamp....  it is neither syrupy or bloated , in fact I'm sure anyone who listened to...
