About users with hidden agendas
Attacking other users is contrary to the forum guidelines and that would become a matter for the moderators.to address. Should you feel strongly about the situation (clearly you do) I think that it would be preferable to quietly report the poster...
Do hi-end DACs offer true value or diminishing return...
There is also the Venus II.  I don't think I've seen it mentioned.
Do good power cords have to be stiff?
In regard to having a power cord of heavy gauge (in the vicinity of 10, more or less), how many amps (or watts, probably easier to add up or check) do folks stereo systems require from the mains? My own modest setup (Class A tube amp is the bigge...
Do hi-end DACs offer true value or diminishing return...
If you seek an R2R DAC, I know that the Denafrips Ares spits out pretty respectable test measurements. As does the Holo Audio DAC, which is eye candy, too. Terminator has some engineering enhancements compared with Ares. So, toss-up between Termi...

@jasonbourne52 The higher the price the more confirmation bias is in play! Careful now. You may get banned for using long words or introducing concepts that may require reading/research.
Michael Aday (Metloaf) has passed away.
@roxy54 Silly Asinine post richopp. Fixed
Michael Aday (Metloaf) has passed away.
Jim Steinman (who also died, last year) and Meatloaf in conversation circa 1993.  Banter.  Sparring. Whatever. Too much very good stuff.
How much “suspension of disbelief do you need?”
I don't think I'd want the full symphony orchestra playing in my music room. Where would they all sit?  There's quite sufficient space in my Tardis.
CD transports
@facten Op, if you want to degrade your sound take this advice proffered above: From the OP -  I recently started running my CD player ( Luxman D380) through my external DAC and have found a significant sonic improvement.  I'm now tempted t...
CD transports
@jasonbourne52 Keep and use your Luxman CD player as a transport until the laser gets too weak to read a disc. Hang on. I recently replaced my 14 year old Rega Saturn laser mechanism box type thing (by a qualified tech, he also took the opportu...

@billzame I think the biggest problem is warranty and service: If something goes wrong, Like what
DAC Question: Delta-Sigma vs R2R
@big_greg I largely agree with everything but would qualify the second part of your first sentence most likely due to lack of exposure to better sounding gear or convincing themselves that they can get the "best" at a fraction of the real cost ...
Bonham’s Squeaky Drum Pedal
Jimmy Page said that when he was working on the remasters (released in about 1990) he was unable to remove the squeak. Yes, it was and is an issue. A shame, but there ya go. I haven’t heard any subsequent remasters.
China built tube amps
Most statements made which rely on having to make such obvious generalizations are open to scrutiny. I’d go further and say that they positively invite scrutiny - as you are doing, and that’s tremendous.. By scrutiny I mean asking further questio...
DAC Question: Delta-Sigma vs R2R
@tennisdoc56 I have looked at the Audio GD R7 (R2R) and it is similar to the Soekris DAC2541 (R2R) in that they both employ FPGA technology. Both are very good of course but the presence of FPGA introduces some issues which I’d prefer to avoid. T...
