Problem with older REL subs & class D amps Ditto what you said. I've got Stentor Sub that I use for an end table because I couldn't get anywhere with Sumiko.
Should I bother to try a subwoofer? I used a REL sub and until it quit working it sounded OK but not any better than the one I replaced (ACI) it with at less than a third of the price.
Building bedroom system.....speakers for it? How about some PMC TB2's. I've got a set out in the garage and they sound fantastic out there. Bought used at a good price too.
Is someone knowledgeable about Def Tech BP 2000 Without being there I can't quite comment about being "less powerful" but just run your speaker wires to the low on the back and leave the jumpers in place. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Are audiophile speakers turn on for single women? Not only do most if not all women not like audio equipment or the steep prices of our "good stuff", they are really appalled when they see the massive jumble of wires behind the equipment that I'm too lazy to organize. LOL
Endless debate: monitor + sub vs floorstanding Me thinks you have been reading to many "Harlequin" romance novels.
Endless debate: monitor + sub vs floorstanding I'd stay away from REL at all costs. If have any problems with your sub you have to deal with Sumiko and they are a bunch of azzholes.
Best rock/jazz speaker under $10k used Personally, I own the Dyn's and they are awesome speakers, but, IMO, they DON"T do rock very well. And they are super critical so most inferior hard rock/metal recordings sound like schitt.
REL Strata III - faint crackle/pop sounds Good luck with Sumiko and you better have lots of room on your credit card.
break in tips "Sounded good right out of the box then at between 50 and 100 hrs they sounded absolutely horrible, but then it only got better until 400 hrs and now they sound GREAT."Speaker break-in is all in your head. Now how can a speaker sound good and then...
Dynaudio or B&W Personally I think the 5.4's sound great with most music but NOT and I repeat, not heavy metal or most hard rock. Maybe because they are so revealing and a lot of the harder type music is not recorded very well but when I brought mine home it real...
Is break in quicker with Planars and Stats? You know what they say about opinions. Musicnoise made perfectly good sense to me and we could argue this forever.I have bought several "new" speakers and they still sound the same weeks later and I think it's all in your head.
Is break in quicker with Planars and Stats? I don't believe in "speaker break-in".
Subwoofer reccomendations ACI Titan. Better than REL.
Subwoofer for VA Haydn I had a REL Stentor and for less than a third the cost an ACI Titan that I have now sounds just as good. Probably not as easy to set up though. Plus Sumiko sucks for customer service. |
