Support table or shelf for turntable @islandmandan Yes, I know that the slate will not isolate the table. I want to try the slate plinth as I believe that the birch-ply, while excellent at damping TT generated noise, is also responsible for a little smearing and subsequent loss of so...

Support table or shelf for turntable @islandmandan Thanks Dan. I’ll look into your suggestion. Although, with the new slate, when it arrives in a few weeks, I was hoping for something less massive and "constructed"... trying to keep it simple. Taut and rigid. The good news is that I ...

Amp fan cooling without dc current in the 110 line Power fan with rechargeable batteries. Agree that amp shouldn't be in cabinet if ventilation is poor.
DIY power cord / cords - really good As atmasphere pointed out, solid core cables are not legal for sale. That is mostly why you need a power cord in the first place. So why not run the in-the-wall run cable directly to your distribution gang or directly to your device?
Upgrading Turntable suggestions Put an idler like Lenco L75 or Garrard 301/401 in a good plinth with a Jelco 750 arm. (Don't use those hollow plinths on eBay)

Just retired and want to get back to vinyl listening $15-20k is a lot to spend on not knowing what equipment to buy and having an old stereo as your reference. Is there a dealer nearby where you could get better acquainted with newer gear?
Moving a 5,000 vinyl LP collection safely +bdp24. I shipped my collection overseas in taped plastic totes without any issues.
Music Hall MMF 5 Arm Change? Try this rehab: Focus on one excellent rig. Get rid of it all and use the funds to get a refurbished Garrard 401/301 or Lenco L75 in a good plinth, a good tube phono/pre like a Croft Micro etc. You know the drill but haven't made the leap. ;-) |
