Whats on your turntable tonight?
Leonard Cohen ‎– Dear Heather (Music On Vinyl 2012)
Are your current amps and other gear the best you've ever had?
Yes.
Do you let the turntable spin when putting down record and attach the clamp.
Platter is always spinning for the session. No clamps or weights.
Question on VTF (What should i adjust it to?)
General rule. Lower end of VTF tends to give a brighter, more detailed and slightly lighter presentation. Can mistrack if you go too low. Higher end of tracking force tends toward darker and heavier sound. May vary with cartridge. The same variati...
Who else is using old cables/interconnects, and is happy?
Phono cables are default Jelco JAC501. They seem fine. Better than an Audio Sensibilty cable I tried.Interconnects are interesting. I’ve tried a few options with the best of intentions. While they all have had some nice aspects to the sound, they’...

I also use Clear Day solid core solid silver speaker cables on the second rig. Took a few months to break in and open up fully. Bought them a few years before Paul passed away.

Need advice on used Wilson Audio speakers
Um, one day you’re running old flabby Polks and the next you want to dive into high-end speakers? What other gear do you have that deserves the Wilsons?
Hdmi causes crosstalk between external preamp sources
Why do you think the power connections are causing this breakthrough?
Hdmi causes crosstalk between external preamp sources
The crosstalk is likely caused by the AV receiver not fully isolating the inputs from each other. Can you power off the sources not in use?
Best settings for my first MC cart
Indeed. The XX2 is 6 ohms so a 10x loading is appropriate. However, as others state, tune it by ear. I tend to prefer a little less loading in general as it tends to free up the sound.

Break in time for Tung-Sol 6550 Tubes
Overall, there is more detail—a cleaner sound. However, the Sovtek has a much fuller sound with a rich, sweet midrange—but not as open. So one is better at resolving the info while the other isn't but you prefer it. I doubt it will change much aft...
