Garrard 301 - Project
@gladmo All good.
Spades vs. Banana plugs ??
+1 Bare wire.
Technics SL-1200GAE or VPI HW-40 or …?
Agreed. I've recommended using a 10" record as a mat for years.  I used to recommend just using another record
I'll welcome myself back after a brief hiatus
Man, that bites. Sorry to hear that. Age-related? Your mono solution will be interesting.
Really want to salvage this deck, help needed!
@audiofilliac Because hosting images costs money and it’s a free forum so they don’t do it. Gosh why is it so hard to upload a picture here!
What to do/
Make a Discogs account. Add all the records with their condition. Put whole collection for sale.

Move on from Diana Krall & Co. and you'll be fine. --- The Universe is more complex than that! If only God worked on that final seventh day think of all the problems this would have solved.
Townshend Pods under TT Don’t Do
Let me add that US wood-framed homes are amplifiers of vibrations and hopeless for turntables, and the basement floor is the only place worth a damn. Second to that is slab or first floor suspended floors with reinforcement piers sitting on baseme...
Whats on your turntable tonight?

VPI Industries---Love the Company as Much as their Turntables
Congrats. Seen and heard VPI at many shows. Met Mat. Good company.
Is a Garrard 401 or 301 "accurate"??
@pindac A slate tile is not the same as a 40kg 50mm slab of Pennsylvania state! The trace below shows how a slate tile rings for about a second, when struck, (and they say it makes a good plinth material). Its damping factor is 0.017, very poor!
