McIntosh MC275 VI preamp tubes Re-reading this. Small signal tubes last a long time. You sure your KT88s are not getting tired? I suspect they might need re-biasing, if not replacement.
Power Wedge 114 - Voltage Spike Damage Looks like there are 4 transformers inside. One or more may have been damaged. The units are not too expensive. As the unit has been compromised protecting your equipment, I would recommend replacement with a new one for safety reasons.

McIntosh MC275 VI preamp tubes +1 on the GE 3M/BP. They are a fine tube but not suited to all applications due to their lower gain.At your price point, the Gold Lion are a good choice.
Whats on your turntable tonight? Karen Wyman - S/T (Decca 1970)Hmmm. She’s 16 and full of energy. But man, the sound is a little strident on some of the cuts. Couple of gems though.
Shipping speakers +1 Freight only on a pallet. Received 2 pairs of Quad ESL57 over the years. Can't think of a more delicate component. One pair was transatlantic. Cost $1000 to ship. The other was $600. No issues whatsoever.
Electrolytic capacitor replacement When I swapped in a monster film cap for the power supply electrolytic, I couldn’t fit the cover back on. Now I leave the cover off. Sounds better anyway with the metal gone. |
