Nobsound springs - load range
Good to hear @tweak1 . What improvement have you experienced?
Speakers on a cabinet .. open to suggestions..
Try adding springs under the speakers to decouple them from the cabinet. Search forum for info.
Audiogon resolutions for 2022 - #1 less exaggeration when it comes to system changes
@tomic601 The Wine Spectator reference made me laugh. I've a friend just like that and his taste is abysmal (on my taste preference scale) Every bottle is "phenomenal!"

@stereo5 I heard what I heard. Maybe it was just a coincidence that both times were poor experiences.  The main thing is you like them.
Townshend Pods - How many do I actually need per component for max effectiveness?
I like to try the less expensive route! Many of the expensive solutions use the same fundamental physics.

Yes. Check my Virtual System. I have 3 Nobsounds on everything. The Townshends are reportedly somewhat better as they are more damped. I tried damping the Nobs but preferred them loaded to 30% with no damping. There are a few threads on the subjec...

The 6 pound DAC might be too light as some compression is needed. You might try them under a heavier support. Have you tried Nobsound springs? They're a lot cheaper and work well.

Agreed. Pro rig for that sort of experience. I had a Vox AC30 2×12" hooked up to the preamp back in time and it was VERY loud and that's only small stuff.
Whats on your turntable tonight?

jpeters568 I’ve heard them a few times at different shows and while, that’s not necessarily the best place to judge any component, it can give a hint at the general capability. On both occasions they were dull, undynamic, and downright bad. On one...

Not sold on 45 rpm or 2 LP versions. I've 70s almost flexi-thin vinyl that sound incredible and 180 gram LPs that are noisy and dull. Give me an analog 50s/60s disk most days.

Never heard GoldenEar speakers sound good. I'd revisit your system after a serious rethink.
First tubes in 30 years
Thanks for the info @jaytor . Just spent a few hours reading up on all that!
