I heard them a few years ago and they made some nice music. Great bass on Cello. TW Acoustic table and some expensive 300B tube amps if I recall correctly.

Originally used for drama and interview recordings. Then became relatively popular as audio books for the blind. those were designed for blind listeners. they don't have to flip these albums too often.

Isolation Advice Needed
I'd suggest a number of concrete piers to support the floor. If your builder can't or won't do it, you could add hydraulic jacks. Suspended floors bounce.
