As you've had good experience with AQ, why not try their better cables? You'll need the non-paired versions for your monos. Look at the Red River at around $250 for a 3m pair. Search for the best price.

You're talking about soundstage depth. Late 50s and 60s jazz analog originals would be a good place to start.

A rookie with 10K, seeking advise
How many records? If starting out, I'd be inclined to stick with digital streaming. Spreading the cost over two sources plus vinyl media is not efficient.   
Which wire for internal recabling my speakers?
The Neotech 12 gauge solid core is fairly stiff and unwieldy. I'd stay at 14 or higher. Could be ok with 18awg for tweeters, 14 for midrange (because also works at 200hz) and 12awg for woofers?
