Most recent concert A bunch of great kids playing jazz at a high school. Then the music teachers played the second half and blew the students away. Great night and awesome acoustics. Haven’t gone to a commercial gig since Nick Cave before corona. Gave up paying ticke...
Speakers sound too bright. You were sensitive to a similar issue with your previous speakers. Look elsewhere in the system.

How long do records last? @faustuss A decent air cleaning machine is a worthwhile addition to any room. It’s been covered (pun) in other threads and the consensus seems to be that turntables sound better with the lid (if fitted) removed when playing.
How long do records last? Indeed. Like using crap vinyl and low-quality assurance. I've records from the 50s in way better condition than some brand-new vinyl. the vinyl must encounter some serious abuse to become "worn out"
Potential relief for tinnitus? I don't want to sound preachy but I'm addressing anyone who reads this who is under 30 and listens to loud music. The next morning ear ringing after the night before always "heals." You think it's no big deal. As you age that recovery slows, and o...
How long do records last? @ghdprentice I have to say that after watching this, I am now more willing to play albums I've been holding back on like Syd Barrett - The Madcap Laughs etc.

Vinyl sounds better (shots fired) Just shows that one can use the IQ bell curve for anything.
Why do tube amps often subjectively sound more powerful than SS ? Tubes can have more headroom, softer clipping, and their harmonic distortion adds to the perception of loudness. And they’re just more awesome.
Potential relief for tinnitus? It’s a ginseng supplement. I tried something similar years ago and found that it increased the noise in my case. Cortexi
Some people actively participate but rarely if ever start a thread. Most times, I get a poor response. Discussions by noromance | Audiogon Discussion Forum

a rant There are folks who cook using recipes, and those who cook using an intuition. You just know. My wife is the former while I'm in the latter camp. I've never used a cook book but I make great food. Same with stereos. I don't need reviews. I just kn...
Subwoofer advice ! Many of these subs have speaker level inputs. You connect thinner wire connections from your amp (or speaker) to the sub. Depends on the model so you should check first. The subs have a high impedance input so present no load on the amp. |
