Amplifier Weight. A Factor? I think unsound said it best. My Burson's casework is the heatsink so its a little heavier than its size would indicate but not by much compared to others.
Why Don't More People Love Audio? Hmmm. Audio galleries. People bringing in their favorite music just to hear it the best way possible. A 3-D listening experience, or the best they'll ever hear. Some would get the bug and want to take the experience home. Something to think about.
Ocellia speakers and power I have the Tonian TL-D1s and have heard Tony demo the 12.1s and they are simply wonderful. All I would ever need. As happy and content as I am, I'd love to have the 12.1s but my wallet can not accommodate.Tony can answer any questions you have.
Does 'Accuracy' Matter or exist ? Accuracy is a nice and noble goal and there are so many ways to get there. Too bad someone hasn't thought of them all at once. But they keep trying.
Do all CD players benefit from burn in? Mark Gurvey of TEAC & Esoteric told me that the DACs take about 400 hours to fully settle in. I've also heard that figure bandied about on other forums and posts. I have no reason to doubt it.
Legacy speakers and what amps? I used to have Legacy Classics and used a Rotel RB-1080 and it worked just fine. A good, high current, class A/B amp will give you great results. Legacy used to, or still does, make their own amps so asking them would go a long towards answering y...

AT&T to cap broadband usage. Streamers beware Oh what a can 'o worms. There are only a few who use a monumental amount of broadband and for those I say, why not. But it will not end there. The internet will be over regulated and monopolized to the point that hackers will retaliate. It should ...
My "ah-ha" moment with NOS tubes... Another 6922 choice is a '70s Mazda RTC from Brent Jessee.
HDMI cables are all the same? Standards can be met but the quality of assembly goes a long way as well.I've seen photos of just how sloppy and bad the terminations are once they are exposed. The cables met the 'standard' but I wouldn't buy them now that I've seen what they loo...
Hearing loss Temporary or more permanent? Great advice one and all, though there is nothing absolute, as this thread shows.Going back to the OP's: "now that it clean I'm listening louder", the same happened to me with my newer, present system. No matter what level I played it at, it sound...
The downward spiral..... Yes, the speakers are the easiest to acclimate to but they are definitely limited by what's upstream. Weak link though they are, they really shine and show their potential once something really good is upstream.Case in point: I had an amp out for ...
The downward spiral..... I'm 57 and after reading these posts I've come a similar conclusion to that of Csontos. A relatively flat response, amp and source wise, had gone a long way to making all of my CDs sound better than before. Since it has finally broken in, even rec...
The downward spiral..... Just for the hell of it, I listened to the 'Seger Sessions' which was recorded live with no rehearsals, winging it all the way. A simple but pure recording on a simple system that blew me away. Live never sounded so good. |
