Who can dance? Ah, the mosh pit. My first experience was at a Nine Inch Nails concert for The Downward Spiral. I was with my favorite stripper friend and she gave me some advice on how to not get hit and it was a blast. It was like being in a giant maelstrom.See...
If you still spin CD's their is a reference level Transport for reasonable money I double checked the price and it should be around $2800 (€2499) for the transport but it still needs a PSU, which they also sell, which probably brings it up to $4K. But if you can source a lesser priced PSU, it might be a tempting alternative. 😄...

Where can I demo JBL speakers? The Harmon Store in New York might still have them. Steve Guttenberg listened to them there a while back. They're at 527 Madison Ave. and their number is 212-822-2777.All the best,Nonoise
Where can I demo JBL speakers? Try contacting JBL and Music Direct and see if they know of anyone in your area that can set up an audition for you. Back when I got my 4319 monitors from Music Direct, the JBL rep had no idea they carried them. They didn't even have the 4319 at t...
Who uses power conditioning? The limited experience I've had with power conditioning led me to believe that going straight into the wall gave the best sound. Better dynamics, wider soundstage, etc.On a lark and propelled by threads like this and the one on the Equi-Core I did...

Am I considered to be a materialistic person? Collectors, hobbyists, and enthusiasts should simply enjoy in what they partake, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. This hobby brings tons of pleasure so I say, keep calm and carry on.All the best,Nonoise
How far have ss amps really come in the last twenty years? I was wondering how long it would take for the "all cables sound the same" camp to chime in with the "all amps sound the same" nonsense.Talk about an agenda.
R2R Dac choices. This list is from a year ago: https://www.stereo.net.au/forums/topic/245930-r2r-multibit-dac-manufacturers-list-chip-or-discrete/ If you google "list of r2r DACs" you'll get a lot more info but hopefully, some will chime in with their personal tak...

Denafrips Terminator vs other dacs I think that unless you critically listen to all of what's out there, you'll be chasing your tail looking for greener pastures. If what you have pleases you, then by all means, listen for the pleasure of it, unless you have loads of disposable inc...
Ingress Audio Engineering I's still waiting for the same responses I got when I brought up Ingress Audio on another thread some time ago. A couple of posters claimed whatever sat on the bearings would roll right off and couldn't believe it would work. All the best,Nonoise
Sabre dacs versus other dacs It's all in the implementation. The chip itself isn't what flavors the final sound. There's a reviewer who loves his Denafrips which is a R2R design in his main system and keeps a Jay's Audio DAC which uses a AKM chip in another system and he love... |
