I had a few drinks and bought some speakers
Balcones Brimstone is one of the best American whiskeys I ever had. The quality has gone down from what I understand. High West Campfire is a decent alternative as well. Typical bourbons are sugary sweet and not my jam.
All New Totaldac D100 Loudspeakers....The HOLY GRAIL OF SPEAKERS ?!
Shouldn't these be called TotalSpeakers?
Types of speakers to create nightclub style sound?
I love Deep House as well, I have Legacy Audio Signature SE - dual 10" woofers and easy to drive. Basically those two are the main qualifiers, the speakers have to be easy to drive/fast and they have to be able to produce deep bass. these speakers...
system/room equalized flat from 20 to 20k cps--is yours?
These days people (normal people, not people on this forum) use DSP to equalize. People here use cables and interconnects to equalize. I use a combination of placement, diffusers and measurements.Having said that, I don't know if anyone actually l...
Anyone with experience with the Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC?
@rdoc , do you know if the Rockna is a truly balanced unit?
Looking for Dynaudio Focus 140/160
Any specific reason why? I had the Focus 140s, they are pretty difficult to drive. I think Dyn’s modern lines like Xcite are a lot more friendly.
MSB select II vs all dacs ?
Yeah you should check out Holo Audio May, Mola Mola Tambaqui, and Metrum Adagio.
McIntosh vs Accuphase?
Also, I will say people tend to hate on Macs too much. They produce beautiful gear that can outlast you and provide a lot of clean power while doing it. I used the MC252 power amplifier for 10 years and it'll always remain one of my favorites.
McIntosh vs Accuphase?
That's fine, I don't want to get into price = quality arguments, you can read about respective gear build quality at both manufacturer websites, though I find Luxman's to be a lot more comprehensive. Point being they are marked up a lot more here ...
McIntosh vs Accuphase?
then they'd cost more in japan man, they're fairly value priced gear in japan.
McIntosh vs Accuphase?
Luxman, for Accuphase you're paying 2x markup for no reason.
Blue Note Tone Poet Series
Bill,I don't 100% agree there, it all depends on your digital chain right, so if your analogue chain is head and shoulders above your digital chain, then sure the vinyl sourced from CD could sound better.  I personally moved to lossless digital a ...
Blue Note Tone Poet Series
@billstevenson - they are fine as long as you know they are sourced from the CDs (hence the extra tracks). I mean they are cheap and you get the large format artwork. Plus they are new pressings so they are clean and noise free compared to used vi...
Acoustic Sounds Series
Yeah I have Getz/Gilberto, Ballads (also original) and A Love Supreme. They are pretty wonderful.
Blue Note Tone Poet Series
BN80 and Tone Poet (along with MM and Classic Records 200g series and Speaker's Corner but they don't issue Blue Notes) are all analog. Wax Time, and other Euro brands that issue cheaper Blue Notes and older jazz records are unofficial and sourced...
