R2R next? Don't like ESS Oddiofyl doing god’s work to turn a generation of South Korean salarymen and their children against audiogon forums.
R2R next? Don't like ESS It’s not transparency you’re after as Sabre chips and well built dacs that use them are transparent beyond human audible range.
Need a Streamer Place your speakers so the tweeters aren’t directly firing towards your ears.

Alta Alec vs Legacy Signature SE vs Elac Vela 408.2 No compromise with the dual AMT drivers IMO - and they recently upgrade the midrange driver and cross over. Not a drop in replacement I checked. You’ll get the vest speakers in this range without a doubt.
Speakers for Gryphon Diablo 120 Maybe Focal
Alta Alec vs Legacy Signature SE vs Elac Vela 408.2 I’ve had the Signature SEs for about 7 years. They’re really good. Best bang for the buck. I’ve thought about upgrading plenty of times but hate to lose the 10 inch woofers. Fantastic high end as well.

Overkill for small room Those Dyns are typically demoed with Primaluna integrated, which are a great match. But if you’re new to all this, might be a good idea to keep things simple and stay away from tubes, which can become another rabbit hole. The main issue with most ...
Overkill for small room No one in their right mind considers great integrated an oxymoron.
Big speakers, are they really the best way to get great sound? Ah, I see what you mean by large. No, I don’t think speakers of that scale are good for in home listening, great at clubs or bars that skew audiophile or large theaters. But indoors I still think largish speakers are better: more efficient, bigger...
Buying from Japan...Accuphase or Luxman what are the costs ? import duties etc Better to buy used in the US IMO. Voltages are different, and these are heavy gear, anything could happen. Luxman at least is widely available in the used market. Accuphase, not so much. |
