Young audiophile metal head looking to level up speaker choice @amtprod , "Personally what I love about these speakers is that they make me want to listen to ALL music---though they can rock, they aren’t a one trick pony, meaning they don’t fall on their face or are deficient in other areas with different mu...
Young audiophile metal head looking to level up speaker choice Legacy Audio Studio HD for your smallish space. They don’t have ports, so easy to place. Big woofer for metal, very easy to drive. And you can trim both bass and treble depending on room size and listening area. https://legacyaudio.com/prod...
What would your "perfect speaker" sound like. @shkong78 , nice what speakers are those?
What would your "perfect speaker" sound like. Open, not boxed in. Airy, crystal clear. Rythmic, fast, with accurate separation and decay. A touch of warmth, body. Very well controlled, tight bass.
Speakers - Your "Safest" Choice As for the OP, I’m on the exact same boat TBH and I’m targeting Focal, Borrensen, Vandersteen, Persona, YG within that range.
Speakers - Your "Safest" Choice @ellajeanelle , “jl35: Aren’t the speakers themselves unnecessary? Logic tells me that most able to spend 20K on a pair of speakers would likely be traveling first class, staying at a 4–5-star hotel and eating in nice restaurants, not including d...
Logical next step from Legacy Signature SEs? Around $15K... Aside from the recommendations, I’m also building a short list. YG Ascent Focal Scala Utopia Evo (used)/Sopra 2 new, as Sopra 3 would be too big Paradigm Persona 7F Magico S3 MK2 used
Does a record player make that much of a difference?? Stability as in level, speed, reduced wow/flutter are all very important imo. So the table, tonearm and cartridge as a system matters a lot. But possibly the cartridge less so than the table and arm.
Best Used Speaker Under $4,000 w/ Respectable Lows The original post is from 2009....
Logical next step from Legacy Signature SEs? Around $15K... @carlsbad2 , agreed somewhat, because keep in mind there are side mounted woofer designs. Bass waves aren’t directional. But yes I don’t necessarily want to give up large drivers.
Logical next step from Legacy Signature SEs? Around $15K... @carlsbad2 , I am surprised to hear! I thought Tektons were very popular here? Anyway, if you read carefully, I am looking for something with perhaps a smaller footprint or the same....they could be taller, I actually like slim and tall speakers l...
Logical next step from Legacy Signature SEs? Around $15K... @stereo5 , because they are huge, Signatures are already pretty large. One of the reasons for change is something slimmer, could be taller but looking at a smaller footprint. As for YouTube, it’s fine for casual listening but I use Tidal for str...
Focal Sopra 2’s vs. Legacy Focus SE’s Hmm, very surprised. My room is a bit bigger and have owned the Signatures for 5 years or so, and have measured these to go down to 22HZ in my room. In fact I didn't go for the Focus because they'd overwhelm my room.
Denafrips Terminator Plus vs T+A DAC 200 @bhvf - thanks. I personally tend to enjoy the R2R designs, hence Rockna as an upgrade option. I also prefer a slightly warm presentation, and truth be told, we need to be honest about preferences as well.....if someone says they prefer dead neutr...
Denafrips Terminator Plus vs T+A DAC 200 @bhvf - Did you compare the Rockna Wavedream to the T+A 200? I have been meaning to purchase the Rockna for a while, and am very familiar with T+A quality. Now all the positive reviews are intriguing to me - so I would definitely love to hear your... |
