Meridiaon Go8.2 or Classe CDP-202 Stereophile has a complete review of the CDP-202 on their website. Just do a search on it and it will come up. I haven't heard the other.
N805's vs N802's Yes, the N802's will require a lot of good clean high current power and also like to be bi-wired or shotgun wired to sound their best.
Wilson Sophia2s demand better than AYRE V5xe, so.. Spectron Musician III SE MK2 with V-Cap option.
Why do dealers do this? Because many dealers' sales people don't know how to sell. They are selling a transaction instead of finding out what your needs are and listening to you. Tranactional vs. consultative selling.I've been a corporate sales officer and have taught ma...
SS or Tube Preamps with Dual-Balanced outputs Given you like the sound of the Classe, I'd recommend the Plinius Tatoro which is a bit more airy, open and musical and lifts some of the 'warmth' veil of the Classe products imo...but it depends on the rest of your system also. What don't you like...

Who uses what Class 'd' modules? Spectron Audio uses IEC modules but they make their own. They also sell them to various manuafactures in different power/wattage outputs.Imo, these Class D amps are the best I've heard including a lot of A/B amps.
About my KT88 Tubes I'd suggest contacting Kevin at Upscale Audio. He is any expert on tube recommedations and sale thereof for Cary tube based components.
Spectron Musician III - Can anyone comment on it? I believe the Spectron in its new MK2 form would be a great solution for you ML speakers which have a nominal ohm rating of 6 but can dip to much lower than that. The Spectron can handle ohms down to .01.It is a very musical amp with plent of head...
velodyne DD hook up I have a relatively new DD-15 and use the XLR input from the XLR output from my pre/pro (Anthem D1) for music and HT. I don't know why the other poster said you can't use the XLR input as the manual says you can.
class d Much of the bad depends on how the output or recontruction filter is designed and what kind of capacitor is used in it and the higher voltage electolytic caps.Just as SS or tube, there are better designs and their are worse.Using the B&O IEC m...
B&W HTM1D and Parasound A51? The B&W diamond series speakers lover clean power, a lot of it (closer to the max recommended wattage is better) and bi-wiring at least.I wouldn't use anything less than 250 watts with it. More would be better as the speaker also dips in imped...
Help with Anthem D2 On the SAT input selection screen, you need to set the video/input source to HDMI and when you power it up press the SAT button on the unit or remote. You can actually assign most any of the inputs to use for your SAT connection as long as you set...
Speakers: $3,000-$4,000 on Audiogon The CDM's use B&W's metal tweeter and is their lowest grade tweeter retailing for about $100 each. The next step up is their aluminum tweeter and it sounds much better than the metal one.Given you McIntosh amp and BAT and if you like the B&... |
